A. share“分享”;B.remain“剩下;逗留”;C.a(chǎn)gree“同意”;D.talk“談話”,既然是“he had something grand to show me”,那么應(yīng)該是與我“分享”這件好東西,所以答案選A. share sth. with sb.
A. drinks“飲料;酒”;B.stories“故事”;C.novels“小說”;D.books“書”,
因為是在圖書館,因此他應(yīng)該是拿了兩本書,這也與下文“a book by its cover”相照應(yīng),所以答案選D。
A. read“讀”;B.open“打開”;C.judge“審理;判斷”;D.start“開始”,“don't ever judge a book by its cover”:不要以貌取人。而下文也直接出現(xiàn)了“don't ever judge a book by its cover”,故答案選C.
A. guess“猜測;認為”;B.hope“希望”;C.did“做”;D.wanted“希望;需要”,聯(lián)系上下文可知,此處表示同意對方的觀點,故答案選A,I guess so“我想是的”。
A. strongest“最為強壯的”;B.healthiest“最為健康的”;C.happiest“最為健康的”;D.wealthiest“最為富有的”,而根據(jù)下文“I have probably everything any man could ever want.”

D.which.
A. take away“拿走”;B.run away“躲避”;C.get away“逃離”;D.work通常不與away搭配,根據(jù)語境可知,該句句意:因為只有一件東西別人無法從你這里取走,那就是你的智慧。
B.grabbed my right hand意為“抓住我的右手” ;C.examined“檢查”;D.checked “核查”,根據(jù)語境可知,該處語意應(yīng)為:他抓住我的右手,因此答案選B.grabbed.

When you were looking for a reliable, honest auto mechanic(機修工),how did you find him? Before you went into that restaurant you recently tried, how did you know that it served great food?If you are like most people on the planet, you want to lower your risk of a big ugly surprise so you asked people you trust to refer to a business they trust. Marketers(營銷人員)call this friendtofriend recognition of a business “wordofmouth”(口碑)advertising.
When you do a great job for your customer or a bad job, people are going to talk about your business. Unfortunately, because we humans seem to feel negative emotions more intensively(強烈地) than positive ones,we're more likely to tell more of our friends about bad experiences with a business than positive ones. Understand this:Customers believe their own experience. You can't make them believe that your company is wonderful when they felt they were treated badly.
So,to get positive wordofmouth going for your business in this servicebased economy, you've got to do a really outstanding job for everyone, exactly.
And when you do,you build a great reputation (名聲). That takes time. But it forms a close link with your customers in a way that no advertising and no promotional(促銷的)coupon(優(yōu)惠券) ever could.
The good news is that because there are so many different businesses chasing after(追趕)your customers' money, people want to know whom they can trust. Besides entertainment and beautiful lanterns, another important part of the Lantern Festival, or Yuanxiao Festival is eating small dumpling balls made of glutinous (粘性的) rice flour (粉狀物). We call these balls Yuanxiao or Tangyuan. Obviously, they get the name from the festival itself. It is said that the custom of eating Yuanxiao originated during the Eastern Jin Dynasty in the fourth century, then became popular during the Tang and Song periods.
The fillings (餡料) inside the dumplings or Yuanxiao are either sweet or salty. Sweet fillings are made of sugar, walnuts (核桃), sesame(芝麻), osmanthus flowers (桂花), rose petals(花瓣). A single ingredient (原料) or any combination can be used as the filling. The salty variety is filled with minced meat (肉末兒), vegetables or a mixture.
The way to make Yuanxiao also varies between northern and southern China. The usual method followed in southern provinces is to shape the dough (生面團) of rice flour into balls, make a hole, insert the filling, then close the hole and smooth out the dumpling by rolling it between your hands. In North China, sweet or nutmeat stuffing is the usual ingredient. The fillings are pressed into hardened cores, dipped lightly in water and rolled in a flat basket containing dry glutinous rice flour. A layer of the flour sticks to the filling, which is then again dipped in water and rolled a second time in the rice flour. And so it goes, like rolling a snowball, until the dumpling is the desired size.
The custom of eating Yuanxiao dumplings remains. This tradition encourages both old and new stores to promote their Yuanxiao products. They all try their best to improve the taste and quality of the dumplings to attract more customers.
