Last month, we took Jack, an American exchange student who fell ill to a traditional Chinese doctor, which turned out to be an eye-widening experience for him.

He hesitated but followed. At the clinic, the doctor first looked at Jack for a while before feeling his pulse and checking his tongue. After boiling the herb medicine at home, I brought it to him in his dormitory. The first taste almost made him throw up. It was really too hard even for me. But after a week, when he recovered, he felt amazed at the effect of the Chinese medicine. At a class meeting about the deepest impressions about China, Jack chose “TCM in My Eyes” as the topic. He shared his experience of TCM, from doubt at first to belief in the end.

We all felt inspired and proud hearing a foreigner introducing the profound TCM. I have every reason to believe that with more and more international communication, TCM will be accepted globally and benefit more people in the future.

“It is really a comfort to me to see so many people like my latest work. To be honest, it would really surprise me if the work does not arouse a sensation among Chinese people. Today after class in the afternoon, our English group get together with our handsome English teacher. To start with, we sang a popular English song happy and then we practised our speak English. The topic we were talking about was the different between Chinese festivals or western ones. Most students compared Spring Festival to Christmas, and others chose Mid-Autumn Festival and Thanksgiving Day as a match.
