7.Travelling around the world with children is difficult enough,but attempting it without using motorized transport is even more of challenge.But Dario Schworer,a 42-year-old climatologist and mountain guide,and his 33-year-old wife Sabine are on a journey to do just that.
The Swiss couple want to travel across the world's oceans and climb the highest mountain on every continent to promote Earth-friendly ways of life.
"We are collecting good examples of dealing with climate change and living in harmony with nature and we want to spread such ideas,"Schworer said."We want to help people affected by global warming and to inspire children for the future."
Recently after having spent three months teaching children in the Everest region,the couple want to show it is possible to travel through as the world's climate zones using just human-power and forces of nature.
In the 47countries they have visited so far they have collected 22tons of trash,taught people in Ecuador how the sun's rays can be used to clean water and inspired a person in Chile to build a house on water with recycled plastic bottles as a foundation.They have also collected trash in the mountains of Nepal with school children.
So far they have communicated with 45,000children from South America,Australia and Asia,giving presentations about the importance of recycling and using alternative energy like solar and wind power.
"We need to motivate children,"said Sabine.
When they began their adventure in 2003they had no children of their own.But since then two has become five:daughter Sabine is now five years old,Andri was born in Chile and baby Noe was born in Australia.
Initially the couple thought they would complete their travels in four years, but now, seven years later, they believe it could take seven more.
"Since our belief is the need to respect nature,we travel only when conditions are good,"Schworer said.

解答 64.C      細(xì)節(jié)理解題.根據(jù)第二段中"The Swiss couplewant to travel across the world's oceans and climb the highest mountain onevery continent to promote Earth-friendly ways of life."可知,這對(duì)瑞士夫婦環(huán)球旅行是為了促進(jìn)環(huán)保的生活方式,故選D.
65.B       細(xì)節(jié)理解題.排除法.根據(jù)第四段中"In the 47countries they have visited so far they have collected 22 tons of trash"可知與選項(xiàng)A相符;第五段中"So far they havecommunicated with 45,000 children from South America,Australia and Asia"可知與選項(xiàng)C相符;第四段中"taught people in Ecuador how the sun's rays can be used to clean water"與選項(xiàng)D相符,故選B.
66.A       詞義猜測(cè)題.根據(jù)最后一段中"the couple thought they would complete their travels in four years, but now, seven years later, they believe it could take seven more"可知,最初這對(duì)夫婦認(rèn)為他們將在四年內(nèi)完成他們的旅行,但現(xiàn)在,七年后,他們相信它可能需要七年的時(shí)間,故選A.

15.The honking of horns (喇叭),as anyone who has tried to get more than a few minutes of sleep in New York will tell you,is one of the city's most widely enjoyed common pastimes. But Aaron Naparstek has had enough of it.On one occasion, the 31-year-old website developer approached the open window of a 4x4.waited for the driver to finish honking, offered a polite"excuse me"and then yelled"Ho-o-o-o-o-o-onk!"in his face.(The response was fierce anger.) Then a few months ago he lost his patience and threw three eggs from the window of his Brooklyn apartment on to the windscreen of a car honking loudly below. But the driver threatened to kill him. So,nobly,he chose the path of non-violence.He started writing anti-honking haiku verses-honku,he called them-and taped them to local lampposts:
Oh.forget Enron*
The problem around here is
All the damn honking
(*Enron a major American company that recently caused a scandal by going bankrupt because of corrupt mismanagement)
"Then this really weird thing started happening,"Naparstek says."All these other haiku started appearing that I hadn't written."Naparstek's section of Brooklyn is now covered in anti-honking poetry,written by everyone from scary environmental activist types to violent revolutionaries;
Patience slowly fades
Residents store up their eggs
That day is coming soon.
Inevitably Naparstek has started a website-www.honku.org-and now people from across the country send him news of their own anti-honking campaigns.Poetry,it turns out,can change the world after all (if you've got enough tape ).Then, just recently,anti-anti-honking haiku started to appear, taped up by locals who thought Naparstek should stop worrying about honking and start worrying about starving children, say,or war in the Middle East instead.Naparstek has an answer for that."Stop me if this is too tenuous(不靠譜的),"he says,"but they talk about the violence in the Middle East like it's a force of nature, like it's beyond our control. But actually it's kind of like the honking-the violence is man-made.If we can figure out how to stop honking on Clinton Street,I think we could learn some things that we could use on a large scale."He pauses for a moment."I told you it was tenuous."
