[3] The texters were four times more likely to ignore red lights or fail to look both ways before crossing. And it took almost two seconds longer to cross the road. Listening to music seems to shorten the time taken to cross the road, but when they were doing it they were less likely to look both ways before crossing.
[4] Kevin Clinton, from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, said," Looking properly when you are walking is as important as when you are driving, so take care not to be dangerously distracted, whether by mobile phones, listening to music or being caught up in conversations with other people.
