61 never leave their homes for various 62 (reason).是定語(yǔ)從句,修飾先行詞people,故關(guān)系代詞既可以用that也可以用who,that/who在從句中做主語(yǔ)。故填that/who。
My husband and I also bring meals to elderly people 61 never leave their homes for various 62 (reason).various意思是“多種多樣的”,后跟可數(shù)名詞的復(fù)數(shù)形式,reason是可數(shù)名詞,復(fù)數(shù)形式直接加s,故填reasons。
This Thanksgiving we did same. 此處the same在句中作賓語(yǔ)。故填the。
we went to the (centre)dining room 我們?nèi)チ酥行牟蛷d。
placed the boxes (fill)with…
People invited us to stay, and thanked us, we had other deliveries and had to leave.
saw them all (watch)us. see sb. do表示看到了某個(gè)人做的整個(gè)動(dòng)作,強(qiáng)調(diào)結(jié)果;see sb. doing表示看到某人正在做某事,強(qiáng)調(diào)過(guò)程。
There was so much (warm)in each hug.

The Internet has opened up a whole new online world for us to meet, chat and go where we’ve never been before.
But just as in face-to-face communication, there are some rules of behavior that should be followed when on line. 1. Imagine how you’d feel if you were in the other person’s shoes.
For anything you’re about to send: ask yourself, “Would I say this to the person’s face?” If the answer is no, rewrite and reread. 2.
If someone in the chat room is rude to you, your instinct (本能) is to fire back in the same manner. But try not to do so. 3. If it was caused by a disagreement with another member, try to fix the situation by politely discussing it. Remember to respect the beliefs and opinions of others in the chat room.
4. Offer advice when asked by newcomers, as they may not be sure what to do or how to communicate. When someone makes a mistake, whether it’s a stupid question or an unnecessarily long answer, be kind about it. If it’s a small mistake, you may not need to say anything. Even if you feel strongly about it, think twice before saying anything. Having good manners yourself doesn’t give you a license to correct everyone else. 5. At the same time, if you find you are wrong, be sure to correct yourself and apologize to those that you have offended(冒犯).
It is not polite to ask others personal questions such as their age, sex and marital status(婚姻地位). Unless you know the person very well, and you are both comfortable with sharing personal information, don’t ask such questions.
A. It’s natural that there are some people who speak rudely or make mistakes online.
B. Repeat the process(過(guò)程) till you feel sure that you’d feel comfortable saying the words to the person’s face.
C. Everyone was new to the network once.
D. The basic rule is simple: treat others in the same way you would want to be treated.
E. When you send short messages to a person online, you must say something beautiful to hear.
F. You should either ignore the person, or use your chat software to block their messages.
G. If you do decide to tell someone about a mistake, point it out politely.

Many Christmas customs are based on the birth of Christ, such as giving presents because of the Wise Men, who brought presents to the baby Jesus(耶穌)Singing Christmas carols is based on the scene of the birth with figures of shepherds, the Wise Men and animals surrounding the baby Jesus.
The origin of Santa Claus begins in the 4th century with St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, an area in the present-day Turkey. By all accounts St. Nicholas was a generous man, particularly devoted to children. After his death around 340 A. D. he was buried in Myra, but in 1087 Italian sailors were believed to steal his remains and removed them to Italy, greatly increasing St. Nicholas’ popularity throughout Europe.
His kindness and reputation for generosity gave rise to claims that he could perform miracles and devotion to him increased. St. Nicholas became the patron(保護(hù)神)saint of Russia, where he was known by his red cap, flowing white beard, and bishop’s mitre. In Greece, he was the patron saint of sailors; in France, he was the patron of lawyers, and in Belgium, the patron of children and travelers. Thousands of churches across Europe were dedicated(供奉的)to him and sometime around the 12th century an official holiday was created in his honor. The Feast of St. Nicholas was celebrated on December 6 and the day was marked by gift-giving and charity.
After the Reformation, European followers of St. Nicholas declined, but the legend was kept alive in Holland where the Dutch spelling of his name Sint Nikolass was eventually transformed to Sinterklaas. Dutch children would leave their wooden shoes by the fireplace, and Sinterklaas would reward good children by placing treats in their shoes. Dutch colonists brought this tradition with them to America in the 17th century and here the English name of Santa Claus appeared.
1.Why, as is believed, is Santa Claus so popular in Europe?
A. Because of his reputation for generosity.
B. Because he died in Italy.
C. Because of the deed of the Italian sailors.
D. Because of his devotion to Italian children.
2.What was the Feast of St. Nicholas held for?
A. Celebrating Christ’s birthday.
B. Giving thanks to churches.
C. Marking a holiday.
D. Honoring St. Nicholas.
3.What does “Sinterklaas” in the last paragraph refer to?
A. European followers. B. Santa Claus.
C. Jesus. D. The Dutch.
4.Which of the following can best describe Santa Claus?
A. Generous, devoted and honored.
B. Dedicated, kind and alive.
C. Well-known, traditional and lovely.
D. Popular, famous and creative.
