It’s been a long time since I do something good for the environment. Feel responsible to protect the environment, I decided to take action again. I told my idea with my friends and we planned to plant the trees on the hill in the rural area of the city.
We came to the foot of the hill and selected a place where looked suitable and settled down. We spend a few hours digging holes and placing the young seedlings (幼苗). Then we wrote our wishes on cards one to one and buried it deep down the roots of the trees. We also took numerous pictures. We were such busy that we didn’t realize it was time to go back. I felt really glad that we made difference to the environment.

故把do改成did。
I decided to take action again,和前面部分用逗號隔開,故本句中的feel應(yīng)為非謂語動詞擔(dān)當(dāng)狀語,和主句主語之間存在主動發(fā)出的關(guān)系,故用其ving形式。
本句中先行詞為a place,代入從句中擔(dān)當(dāng)主語,故使用關(guān)系詞which/that。
故把to 改成by。
在本句中it代指的應(yīng)該是上文提到的cards,為復(fù)數(shù),故不用it而用them。
考查so和such的區(qū)別。 所以把such改成so。
考查固定短語:make a difference,意為:對…

【題目】Two traveling angels(天使) stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the guest room. Instead the angels were given a space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied: “Things aren’t always what they seem.”
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor but very hospitable(好客的)farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had, the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night’s rest. When the sun came up the next morning, the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their only income, lay dead in the field.
The younger angel was very angry and asked the older angel, “How could this happen? Why didn’t you watch out for the cow? The first man had everything, yet you watched over his house,” she accused. “The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you did not help.”
“Things aren’t always what they seem,” the older angel replied. “When we stayed in the basement, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so greedy and unwilling to share his good fortune, I asked God if I could seal(封口)the wall so he couldn’t find it. Then last night as we slept in the farmer’s bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I asked God if the angel could take the cow instead. Things aren’t always what they seem.”

Three Japanese tourists taking a holiday in Australia got stuck when their GPS told them they could drive from the mainland to an island, failing to mention the 15 kilometres of water and mud in between.
As they drove their hired car from Moreton Bay to nearby North Stradbroke Island, they started to notice the firm surface they were driving on giving way to the well-known bay mud. However, being confident that their GPS would direct them to a road soon, they decided to drive on, managing to travel around 500 metres before their car was up to its tires in mud. To make matters worse, the tide(潮汐) started to come in and soon forced them to seek help and abandon the vehicle. Just four hours later the car was trapped in two metres of water — to the great amusement of onlookers on the shore and passengers on passing boats and ferries.
Yuzu Noda, 21, said she was listening to the GPS and “it told us we could drive down there. It kept saying it would navigate(導(dǎo)航) us to a road. But we got stuck…there’s lots of mud.” She and her travel companions Tomonari Saeki, 22, and Keita Osada, 21, instead had to give up their plans for a day trip to the island and headed back to the Gold Coast of a lift from the RACQ tow truck(吊車) driver who was called to the trapped car. No such luck for the hired car though – after assessing the situation, no attempt was made to recover it. The students from Tokyo, who are due to return home tomorrow, said the experience would not put them off returning to Australia for another visit. Mr. Tomonari said, “It has rained every day on our six day holiday. Hopefully next time we come back it will be sunny.”
The car was covered by insurance, but the tourists will have to pay up to about $1500 in extra charges.
