Do you know some people who just have all the luck? They seem to get all the 1 and you ask yourself: “Why don’t I get 2? Why don’t I get a great education?” But the real reason why most people are successful or lucky is that they’ve learned how to 3 themselves in a place so they can be lucky. They’ve learned how to, in a way, 4 their own luck!
I’m not 5 about dishonest or illegal ways. I’m talking about hard, 6 work. But successful people work smart. They keep improving and making the most of their abilities. Yet they also learn to 7 for help in things they themselves are not that good 8 doing. So we not only must make the most of our own special strengths, we must also learn our 9 and weaknesses.
A man recently got his lucky big break. Everyone said, “That guy’s so lucky!” But that man created his own luck 10 by arriving at the office early. He apologized and 11 when he was wrong. He even shared the credit and reward with others 12 he had done much of the work. He was never satisfied just to get 13 and do average work. He always 14 the extra effort to do his very best.
We have to work hard and do what it15to be on the way to luck and success when it comes. 16 , weMI miss it because we aren’t ready. You never know when the right opportunity will come your way, and when the right, important person is watching your excellent 17 and work. That’s when you’ll get your lucky break! But when you put your life in Jesus Christ’s 18 , the right important person is always 19 you and all that you do. Then he will20and bless vour life in manv wavs as vou do vour very best to please him in every thina every dav.

.C上句“Do you know some people who just have  all the luck?” qualification“資格,條件”; occupation“工作,職業(yè)”;license“批準(zhǔn),許可,執(zhí)照”。
前文的have all the luck和下文的“But the real reason why most people are successful or lucky is that...”
.A put themselves in a place“使他們自己處于有運氣的地方”。成語“設(shè)身處地”可譯為:put oneself in other's position。
.C create“創(chuàng)造,創(chuàng)作,創(chuàng)建”。第三段的第三句“But that man created his own luck...”
.C talk about“談?wù)摗。下句“I'm talking about hard,honest work”有暗示。
前句“I'm not talking about dishonest or illegal ways”暗示此處應(yīng)填honest。
.D下句中的“they themselves are not good at doing”表明這里填ask,短語ask for help表示“尋求幫助”。
.A習(xí)慣搭配be good at表示“擅長”。
.B limit“局限,界限,限度”;pressure“壓力”;strength“力量,優(yōu) 點”;ability“能力,才智”。 our limits and weaknesses 對應(yīng)our own special strength。
.A realize“認(rèn)識到,了解”;promise“允諾,答應(yīng)”;admit“承認(rèn)”; convey“運輸,表達”。根據(jù)空后的“when he was wrong”(當(dāng)他犯錯誤的時候)可推斷,他勇于“承認(rèn)”(admit)錯誤。
.B get by“混過,湊合,勉強應(yīng)付”。get over“克服,忍受,痊愈”。
.Dmake the extra effort“付出額外的努力”。
.C take“花費”;afford“買得起,承擔(dān)得起”;obtain“獲得,得到”;  adapt“(使)適應(yīng)”。句式it takes...to do sth.
.C approach“途徑,方式,方法”;administration“管理,經(jīng)營,支配”;  action“行動,活動,行為”;attitude“態(tài)度,看法”。
.A短語in the hands of sb./in sb.'s hands表示“命運掌握在某人的手中”。
.D watch“保護,留心,注視”;adopt“采用,采納,收養(yǎng)”;affect“影響”;catch“逮住,捉住,抓住,追上”。 本段第二句中“when the right,important person is watching your...”
.C 根據(jù)下句bless your life in many ways可推測本空填reward“報酬,報答,獎賞,報償”。
