4.---So many tourists pour into such beautiful places.
---I think it necessary they _____ be well preserved.( 。
A.canB.shallC.shouldD.may

分析 -如此多的游客涌進了這么漂亮的地方.-我認(rèn)為這些地方被好好保護是很有必要的.

解答 答案:C.此處they是指so beautiful places,根據(jù)上句很多游客涌入這些美麗的地方,而表示對環(huán)境的擔(dān)憂,此處用should應(yīng)該更加合適.A.can能,會,B.shall將要,D.may可能,均不合題意.

點評 本題考查情態(tài)動詞的用法.根據(jù)上下文及說話人的語氣態(tài)度選擇合適的情態(tài)動詞.

15.The British"Daily Telegraph"
Traditionally regarded as one of the safest planes in the skies,the Boeing 777's reputation will have been damaged by the second fatal crash in less than a year.There are around 1,000Boeing 777s in service,and the plane is a long distance machine,travelling some of the longest routes.It entered service in 1995and the National Transportation Safety Board,which is responsible for monitoring US-made aircraft,has recorded fewer than 60incidents.
But the recent record hasn't been exact with two major incidents-a crash at San Francisco airport last July,which causes three lives,and the crash-landing of a British Airways 777at Heathrow in January 2008.
To our sadness,two days ago,Malaysia Airlines Flight 370lost contact flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.The Malaysian disaster is very different from both the BA incident and the crash involving an Asian Airlines flights at San Francisco International Airport in July,which occurred shortly before landing,while the Malaysia airlines plane disappeared off the radar(雷達)during the early stages of the trip.
The accident at San Francisco in July was due to pilot error which led to the engines being set to idle because he believed the computer would maintain sufficient speed to keep the plane up in the air.The BA crash landing,which did not result in any deaths,was finally found to have been caused by a block in the fuel line feeding the engine.
However,the Malaysia airlines plane disappeared off the radar during the early stages of the trip.No exact explanations have been given for the Malaysia airlines plane crash.First reports suggest that Zaharie Ahmad Shah,the 53-year-old Malaysian airlines pilot,was hugely experienced-having joined the carrier in 1981and with 18,365hours in the aircraft under his belt.

26.What can we learn from the next?A
A.The exact reason for 370crash is not clear
B.Flight 370crash must be similar to the BA incident
C.The experienced pilot of Flight 370can't have operated wrong
D.Flight 370must have been taken control of to a different place

19.Iceland has energy to spare,and the small country has found a cutting-edge (尖端的) way to reduce its oil dependency.Volcanoes formed the island nation out of ash and lava,which heats huge underground lakes to the boiling point.The hot water is piped into cities providing heat for homes,businesses and even swimming pools.The volcanoes melted ice,which formed rivers.The water runs through turbines,providing all the country's electricity.
Iceland wants to make plans to improve its cars,buses and trucks to run n renewable energy.Iceland has already started by turning water into fuel-hydrogen fuel.Here's how it works:Electrodes (電極) change the water into hydrogen and oxygen molecules.Hydrogen electrons pass through a conductor that creates the current to power an electric engine.
Hydrogen fuel now costs two to three times as much as gasoline,but gets up to three times the distance than gas,making the overall cost about the same.As an adde benefit,there is no carbon-only water steam.
In the capital,Reykjavik,they are already testing three hydrogen-powered electric buses.The drivers are impressed."I like these buses better because with hydrogen you get no pollution,"said bus driver Rognvaldur Jonatanlson.By the middle of this century,all Icelanders will be required to run their cars only on hydrogen fuel,meaning no more gasoline.
"If we make hydrogen and use that as a fuel for transportation then we can run the whole society on our own local renewable energy sources,"said Marie Mack.Icelanders are showing the orld that by making fuel from water,it is possible to kick the oil habit.
