小題1:C
小題2:C
小題3:C
小題4:B
小題5:A

小題1:細節(jié)理解題。文章第一段提到人工培育生產(chǎn)出來的草莓有殘留農(nóng)藥的味道,第二段中The strawberries here are pesticide-free with no artificial coloring.
由 “You can have fun picking strawberries in person, but you can’t taste them for free.”
由最后一段中 “Known for the freshest and healthiest strawberries, this place is named as the "Hometown of Strawberries”, 可以推出之所以被譽為草莓的故鄉(xiāng)是因為這里生產(chǎn)的草莓質(zhì)量上乘, 故B項為正確答案。其他三項均不能從文中明確地推出。
小題5:寫作目的題。根據(jù)文章的組織結(jié)構(gòu)形式, 可以判斷出這是一篇廣告, 其目的是為天然草莓種植園做宣傳, 故A項為正確答案。

When you turn on the radio, you hear an advertisement. When you watch television, you hear and see an advertisement. If you turn the pages of a newspaper or magazine, again you find an advertisement. If you walk down the street, you see one advertising board after another. All day, every day, people who want to sell you something compete to catch your attention. As a result, advertisements are almost everywhere.
In the West, advertisements are the fuel that makes mass media work. Many TV stations, newspapers, magazines, radio stations are privately owned. The government does not give them money. So where does the money come from? From advertisements. Without advertisements, there would not be these private businesses.
Have you ever asked yourself what advertising is? Through the years, people have given different answers to the question. For some time it was felt that advertising was a means of keeping your name before the public? and some people thought that advertising was “truth well told.” Now more and more people describe it in this way: Advertising is the paid, non-personal, and usually persuasive(有說服力的) description of goods, services and ideas by identified sponsors(明確的出資者) through various media.
First, advertising is usually paid for. Various sponsors pay for the advertisements we see, read, and hear over the various media. Second, advertising is non-personal. It is not face to face communication. Although you may feel that a message in a certain advertisement is aimed directly at you, in reality, it is directed at large groups of people. Third, advertising is usually persuasive. Directly or indirectly it tells people to do something. All advertisements try to make people believe that the product, idea, or service advertised can do good to them. Fourth, the sponsor of the advertisement must be identified. From the advertisement, we can see if the sponsor is a company, or an organization, or an individual. Fifth, advertising reaches us through traditional and nontraditional mass media. Included in the traditional media are newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and films. Nontraditional media include the mail, matchbox covers, and billboards.

The slavery drama “12 Years a Slave” won the Academy Award for best picture on Sunday, making history as the first movie from a black director to win the film industry’s highest honor in 86 years of the Oscars. British director Steve McQueen’s brave portrayal of pre-Civil War American slavery won two other Oscars, including best supporting actress for newcomer Lupita Nyong’o and best adapted screenplay based on the memoir of Solomon Northup, a free man tricked and sold into slavery in Louisiana. “Everyone deserves not just to survive but to live. This is the most important legacy of Solomon Northup,” said McQueen in his acceptance speech.
“12 Years a Slave” was better over space thriller “Gravity” from Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron, which nevertheless got the most Oscars of the night with seven, including the best director honor for Cuaron, a first for a Latin American director. The film starring Sandra Bullock as an astronaut lost in space swept the technical awards like visual effects and cinematography, a reward for its groundbreaking work on conveying space and weightlessness. Referring to the “transformative” experience he and others undertook in the four-plus years spent making “Gravity”, Cuaron, whose hair is graying, said, “For a lot of these people, that transformation was wisdom. For me, it was just the color of my hair.”
In one of the strongest years for film in recent memory, the 6,000-plus voters of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences scattered golden Oscar statuettes among the many acclaimed movies in contention.
It was a good night for the scrappy, low-budget film “Dallas Buyers Club”, directed by Jean-Marc Vallee, a biopic of an early AIDS activist two decades in the making that won three Oscars, including the two male acting awards.
Matthew McConaughey, in a validation of a remarkable career turnaround, won best actor for his portrayal of the homophobe who turned AIDS victim and then turned treatment crusader Ron Woodroof, a role for which he lost 50 pounds (23 kg). His co-star, Jared Leto, won best supporting actor for his role as Woodroof’s unlikely business partner, the transgender woman Rayon, for which he also slimmed down drastically.
Australia’s Cate Blanchett won the best actress Oscar for her acclaimed role as the socialite unhinged by her husband’s financial crimes in Woody Allen’s “Blue Jasmine.” “As random and subjective as this award is, it means a great deal in a year of, yet again, extraordinary performances by women,” said Blanchett, who beat out previous Oscar winners Bullock, Amy Adams, Judi Dench and Meryl Streep.
小題1:The film which won the largest number of Oscar awards this year is ______.
A.12 Years a SlaveB.Gravity
C.Dallas Buyers ClubD.Blue Jasmine
小題2:Which director spent the least money in making the film?
A.Steve McQueen.B.Alfonso Cuaron.
C.Jean-Marc Vallee.D.Woody Allen.

小題4:Which of the following statements is WRONG?
A.“12 Years a Slave” won two Oscar awards altogether.

C.The character Rayon is played by Jared Leto.
D.The woman film star Cate Blanchett comes from Oceania.

“Global warming could make humans shorter,” warn scientists who claim to have found evidence that it caused the world's first horses to shrink(收縮) nearly 50 million years ago. In fact, a team from the universities of Florida and Nebraska says it has found a link between the Earth heating up and the size of mammals – horses, in this case.
The scientists used fossils to follow the evolution of horses from their earliest appearance 56 million years ago. As temperature went up,their size went down, and vice versa(反之亦然);“ At one point they were as small as a house cat,” said Dr Jonathan Bloch, curator(博物館長) of the Florida Museum of Natural History, which was quoted by the "Daily Mail" as saying.
The scientists say that the current warming could have the same effect on mammals and could even make humans smaller."Horses started out small, about the size of a small dog . What's surprising is that after they first appeared, they then became even smaller and then dramatically increased in size, and that exactly corresponds to the global warming event, followed by cooling”
"It had been known that mammals were small during that time and that it was warm, but we hadn't realized that temperature specifically was driving the evolution of body size," Dr Bloch said in the "Science" journal.
小題1:How did scientists find out the horses’ earliest appearance millions of years ago?
A.searching the data on the net
B.sorting through the pictures of ancient times
C.using fossils to follow the evolution
D.a(chǎn)nalyzing the related images
小題2:What can we infer form the passage?
A.As temperatures went up, horses dramatically increased in size
B.The temperature has no effect on mammals’ evolution
C.As temperatures went up, horses’ size went down
D.In history, it used to be warm at early times , followed by a certain period of sharply cooling down.
小題3:Which is the most closest meaning to the underlined words most probably mean _______.
A.react toB. be contradictory to
C.be consistent withD. differ from
小題4:What is the best title of the passage?
A.Global warming is to disappear
B.The temperature on earth is to decrease
C.Global warming makes human shorter
D.Mammals are dying out.
