The next day the king receivedfrom the cup. The king was very fond of the cup and he toldthe rich man, “I have an orange. It’s beautiful than the cup,so I decide to give it to you as the reward instead of money.

2. that改為which

3. it改為them

4. such改為so

5. money 前加of

6. for改為to

7. moneys改為money

8. from去掉

9. beautiful 前加more

2.此處介詞+關(guān)系代詞引導(dǎo)的定語(yǔ)從句,先行詞只能填which,因此要將on that 改為on which。

因?yàn)樯弦痪湓捳f(shuō)是“many fine oranges”,此處指許多橘子中的一個(gè),應(yīng)用one of them。

此處應(yīng)用副詞so修飾形容詞happy,考察的是so的常見(jiàn)用法,so + 形容詞 + that 從句,表示太以至于

lots of + 復(fù)數(shù)名詞/不可數(shù)名詞,此處money是不可數(shù)名詞,應(yīng)加of。

say to sb + 直接引語(yǔ),因此把for改為to。

For centuries people have hunted animals for food and pleasure. The invention of the gun made it so easy for humans to hunt that some animals were lolled by the thousands and even became extinct(絕種的).This brings up some serious problems since breaks in the food chain upset the balance of nature.

Large animals like tigers are being killed by the hundreds every year in India. The Royal Bengal tiger is the only type that exists in India and their number is greatly reduced every year because of poaching(偷獵).The present number is about 2,000,all of which live in tiger reserves. Two hundred years ago the population was 23,000 or more.

During the British rule of India, many of the so-called English gentlemen killed tigers for pleasure and to show their bravery. This seems stupid because killing an innocent(無(wú)辜的)creature with a gun is not a brave deed.

Today the tiger skin is very popular.Rich people and fashion designers have no idea what they are doing. Competition between the rich to show off makes them blind to the serious effects.People persuade villagers to kill tigers to get money, and they do it because they are poor and need to feed their families. We must educate them, and the government should give them proper jobs to help solve this problem.

The people to blame are those who buy animal products like ivories, furs, tiger bones for medicine and handbags made of animal skins. They must be put behind bars to stop this kind of trade. The earth is home for everyone on it. The trees, animals, birds, and fish of all kinds belong here as much as we do.Only we have the power to change their fate.

C. confident D. careless

3What does the underlined word "them" in Paragraph 4 refer to?

How to Feel Worthy

【1】 It might be when spending time around others or when you’re by yourself but it’s often spurred on by feeling that others are more successful, privileged or more clever than you. The following tips may help you get out of the suffering situation.

2 Comparison weakens your self-reliance and causes you to feel less than, because instead of concentrating on what you have, you only see what you don’t have. Think of a bloom—it blooms amid many other blooms and does not compare itself to all those blooms; instead it does what it was made to do—bloom.

Learn how to appreciate other people’s achievements.3 If you appreciate other people’s work, others will always appreciate you, which is a form of respect and satisfaction that adds to your sense of self-worth.

Make new friends. Surround yourself with like-minded people. In this way, you can create your own space, and you will feel worthy.

Stop criticizing yourself. Every person has certain limits—you are not a super human who can(or even should) do everything.4

Involve yourself in community services, you will feel confident. 5 You will feel worthy, when you see the love for yourself reflected in other people’s eyes.
