Everybody wants to learn English well but many find it not easy. And everyone can spend three hours on English every day,but what they get is not the same. The methods one adopts play an important part. Today,we get together because of English. We have been studying English for many years. I think we all have much experience. I am very content to share mine with you.

I like English. Only when you want to do something, can you do it well. Eight years ago,I was taken into the English world. It was fresh to me then. I feel lucky because I met with a respectable teacher. Her teaching style was unique and we were active and excited in classes. So I can say, when I first got touch with English,it interested me very much.

After I entered the university,I came to realize its special importance. My class provided me with a good atmosphere of studying. For some students,to remember the new words is the biggest barrier, especially now the words are more difficult than before. Actually, words come along with sentences, that is,to understand the words according to its context. Of course,it is necessary that you review it now and then;otherwise you will forget them easily. When reading,I am used to underlining some special and important phrases or write them down on the notebook so that I can find them when I review. If you want to master English better than others, you must pay more than others, you must set aside more time. Don't be lazy.

根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,回答下列問(wèn)題。

                              Sailing Round the World

Mr. and Mrs. Spencer both had very busy jobs and didn5t have much time to spend with their young children. They wanted to change this, and because their hobby was boating, they decided to sail round the world together.

It took six years to prepare everything for the trip. First, they bought a new boat. Then, both the husband and wife had to take advanced (先進(jìn)的) sailing lessons and learn all about the sea and the weather. Mr. Spencer also did several courses in repairing engines and Mrs. Spencer spent an hour in a restaurant learning to cut up fish.

In October, they had one year off from their jobs and sailed away from England with their two children. The next year,in August, their long journey ended in Australia.

The boat was not big,but they took a teacher for the children with them. None of them found the trip boring because there were three computers, many CDs,a TV and a DVD player on the boat.

The family loved being at the sea and seeing the stars in the sky. But,most of all,Mr. and Mrs. Spencer enjoyed spending time with their children while they were still young.[2013 • 吉林]
