At the camp, campers are giving classes by experts in the moring and in the afternoon they do a couple of hour of practice. In the evening, there is a music exchange concert that campers can give performances and plays different kinds of music from their own counties.

I’m sure you will have a lot of funs there. I’m looking forward your reply.

Yours,

Li Hua

【答案】1.a→an

2.openly→open

3.is→are

4.to join→to去掉

5.giving→given

6.hour→hours

7.that→where

8.plays→play

9.funs→fun

10.forward后加to

故將a改為an。

“be open to..”

3.“The camp is openly to students from all over the world who is interested in playing musical instruments.”賓語從句中主語為“students”,所以be動詞應(yīng)是復(fù)數(shù),故將is改為are。

“Why not do ...”

“a couple of...”

“There is a music exchange concert that campers can give performances and plays different kinds of music from their own counties.”

“have a lot of fun”為固定搭配,意為玩的很開心,故將funs 改為fun。

“l(fā)ook forward to doing...”

Humans have daydreamed for thousands of years, and yet, these days, spare moments are filled with using our smartphones and other devices—going through social media, listening to podcasts, responding to emails—leaving us little time to let our minds wander.

1 When you’re in a daydreaming state of mind, you can imagine or pretend your own version of events.

My most creative moments come when my brain is allowed to rest says Megan King, a designer. But she is addicted to her smart phone. 2 According to Nielsen, Americans spend 10.5 hours a day consuming media. And UK residents are close behind at almost 10 hours a day, according to eMarketer.

3 This may seem a small change, but its effect, on the way our minds work and on our collective creativity could be serious. 4

Over years of studies, researchers have found that our brain has two separate attention systems — an external one and an internal one. The internal attention system, which is activated(激活)during daydreaming, is called the default network(默認(rèn)網(wǎng)絡(luò)).

The default network is particularly active when we are thinking about ourselves, thinking about the past, thinking about the future. 5

If both systems can’t be active at the same time and we’re spending 10 hours a day in one attention system, it begs the question: what is that doing to our brains — and our ability to come up with creative ideas?

A. Daydreaming is the opposite of our dreams.

B. This extended screen time has made some of us uncomfortable sitting alone with our own thoughts.

C. Daydreaming is how we access our big-picture state of mind.

D. In fact, it could be preventing your ability to come up with fresh, creative ideas.

E. We can’t really have both attention systems active at the same time.

F. People spend too much time on screen suffer from headaches.

G. She's not alone.

In the early 1980s, one of our neighbors asked my mom if she would make a few gift baskets for her to give as gifts for the holidays. My mom agreed and news of the unique gift baskets my mom was making spread like wildfire throughout the neighborhood. My mom was busy throughout the holiday season, so she asked a friend to help her. When the orders continued after the holiday season for baby gifts, birthday gifts and more, it occurred to them that maybe this job could be turned into a business and they did it.

My mom went into her business because she had creative ideas. She got orders and filled order. But there was no goal and no real plan. In 1991, my mom’s partner got into financial trouble and there was not enough money to support either mom or her partner.

So if you are led by your creativity or enthusiasm, make sure you ask yourself what you purpose to do your business is. If you don’t set goals, how will you know which direction to go in? Do you want to create jobs and growth in the economy? Are you looking for a hobby? You can’t keep scores if you don’t know what game you are playing.

After my mom’s partner quit, she had to abandon her business to support herself. She swore she would run a business again and do it differently the next time. However, there wasn’t a “next time” for her. She passed away just after her 51st birthday. She never had someone tell her how important having a goal was, she never had a chance to be everything she could be.

There are no right or wrong goals, only the ones that matter to you. Set them so that you can make progress and achieve success, whatever they may mean to you.

1What did the writer’s mom do after failing in her business?

A. She found a different partner.

B. She celebrated her 51st birthday.

C. She planned to have a second try with different methods.

D. She decided never to run a business again.

B. The writer mother was a woman without creativity.

C. The writer’s mother died because of her failure in business.

D. The writer believes having goals in mind ensured one’s success.

3How does the writer present his point of view mainly?
