I consider myself something of 【1】expert on apologies. A quick temper has provided me 【2】 plenty of opportunities to make them. In one of my earliest 【3】 (memorize), my mother was telling me, “Don't watch the ground when you say, ‘I'm sorry'. Hold your head 【4】 and look at the person in the eye, so he'll know you mean it. ” My mother thus made the key point of a 【5】 (succeed) apology: It must be direct.
【6】important thing we should do for an effective apology is to bear the responsibility for our careless mistakes. We are used to 【7】 (make) excuses, which leaves no room for the other person to forgive us. Since most people are open-hearted, the no-excuse apology leaves both parties feeling 【8】 (good) about themselves. That, after all, is the purpose of every apology. It matters little 【9】 you are wholly or only partly wrong. Answering for your mistake 【10】 (encourage) others to take their share of the blame.
【1】an
【2】with
【3】memories
【4】up
【5】successful
【6】Another
【7】making
【8】better
【9】whether
【10】encourages
固定搭配provide.sb with sth相當(dāng)于provide sth for sb,意為為某人提供某物,故填with。
由前文“one of my earliest”可知,此處缺少名詞復(fù)數(shù),故將memorize改為名詞復(fù)數(shù)形式,故填memories
故填up。
Hold your head ___up___ and look at the person in the eye意為在向別人道歉時要看著別人的眼睛,這是一個道歉的要點,所以此處應(yīng)該是道歉的另一個要點,故填Another。
固定搭配be used to doing,意為習(xí)慣做某事。
the no-excuse apology leaves both parties feeling ___8___ (good) about themselves.
It為形式主語,真正的主語為___whether___ you are wholly or only partly wrong. Answering for your mistake 。 故填whether。

The book A Big Fat Crisis: The Hidden Forces Behind Obesity Epidemic— and How We Can End It by Deborah Cohen, a senior natural scientist, is very popular now. 【1】 But according to this book, the following are some misunderstandings of obesity or being overweight.
1.If you're obese, blame your genes.
【2】 Yet, between 1980 and 2000, the number of Americans who are obese has doubled—too quickly for genetic factors to be responsible. At restaurants, a dollar puts more calories on our plates than ever before, because restaurant meals usually have more calories than what we prepare at home, so people who eat out more frequently have higher rates of obesity than those who eat out less.
2.If you're obese, you lack selfcontrol.
Research shows that if we are faced with too much information, we have a tendency to make poor choices on diet. 【3】 Even, the most vigilant(警覺的)people may not be good controllers of themselves.
3.【4】
Although the US Department of Agriculture estimates that fewer than 5 per cent of Americans live in the “food deserts”, about 65 per cent of the nation's population is obese. For most of us, obesity is not related to access to more fresh fruits and vegetables, but to the choices we make in supermarkets.
4.The problem is not that we eat too much, but that we don't exercise.
Michelle Obama's “Let's Move” campaign is based on the idea that if kids exercise more, childhood obesity rates will decrease. 【5】 In fact, although a drop in workrelated physical activity may explain up to 100 fewer calories burned, leisure physical activity appears to have increased.
A.Lack of access to fresh fruits and vegetables is a cause of obesity.
B.Obesity rates have increased.
C.Fresh fruits and vegetables we choose in a supermarket are related to obesity.
D.But there was no obvious decrease in physical activity levels as obesity rates climbed in the 1980s and 1990s.
E.People hold different views on obesity.
F.People benefit a lot from physical activities.
G.Our world has become so rich in food that we can be led to consume too much in ways we can't understand.

I had a interesting dream last night. I dreamed that I joined a race. At first, I could not run very fast and fell behind. So I didn’t lose my heart and kept running. All the students on the playground cheer me on, “Come on!”
I was too encouraged that I ran faster and fast till I caught up with all the other runners. I felt as if flying like a superman. In the end, I got to the finishing line first. I won the race. I felt very proudly of myself. Many of my classmate threw me up into the air. Just at that time, I woke up and found me still in bed!
