During my childhood many years ago, a hero was pictured in my mind as the strong and the powerful, such as a superman, but as time goes by and my knowledge grows wider, the definition of a hero changes from superman to Jesus ChristIn my opinion, a hero should have a modest characteristic, treat others with love and have the ability to change the world

Heroes are also ordinary men but they do extraordinary things for others out of the vast love they have in heroes’ heartWhen God created the world, God gave everyone a lovely heart for a chance to become a heroAll people need to do is to spare out the love to become heroes, but this world only has not so many heroes

Who doesn’t like to give orders to other people? Who likes to be a servant treated like a dog? Everyone wants to get to a higher positionThe employee wants to be a managerThe senator參議員 wants to be the presidentThe higher status will have the stronger powerNo one will refuse to own the driver seatSo a hero must have the ability to be in the rank職位).The hero doesn't have to take the power, but to get to a higher rank is one way to get ability of changing the worldIf the hero can not change the world, he is only a normal man with a modest characteristic and kind loveBesides, a hero should be ready to help others

Therefore, being a hero isn't at all an easy jobNot everyone can be a heroThe person must not only make a difference but also try to love othersThe both done, the person can become a true hero

【題目】“Iris scan (虹膜掃描), please,” the bank’s computer voice tells you. You step up and the computer reads your eye, comparing it to the stored file it has of your iris. The images had better match---otherwise, you won’t be able to get your money.

Iris scanning and other technologies, such as fingerprint and voice scanning, have appeared in many science fiction movies in the past. Today, these advanced technologies are part of the real world. They are common at work, the bank, the airport, and your local prison. The iris scan, fingerprint scan, and voice scan are all examples of biometrics(生物測(cè)定學(xué)), a fast developing area of automatic personal identification technology. Basically, biometrics uses various ways to verify a person’s identity, based on the individual’s unique characteristics, including fingerprints, signature, and so on.

Biometrics identification systems have a number of advantages over password systems. The primary advantage is that an individual has to be physically present in order to be identified. Another important advantage is that there are no passwords to remember, forget, lose, or steal.

The voice scan is the simplest and most affordable form of biometrics. It only requires a computer, a microphone, and the correct software. The software records a subject’s voice and then compares it to a stored voice sample for identification purpose.

For additional safety, fingerprint and handprint scans can also be employed. Fingerprint scans take the image of a fingerprint and compare it to a stored file of prints. Handprint scans identify the unique features of a hand.

【題目】Going on holidays is best choice for the Europeans to relax themselves, especially in the UK. However, much has changed during the past decades(幾十年).

One of the most traditional British holidays was the “seaside holiday”. Families got on a train or into a car and traveled to seaside towns nearby to sunbathe on the beach, buy ice-creams and eat fish and chips and so on.

In the late 1970s, more and more British people started traveling to other countries in Europe for their summer holidays (July-August) because the weather wasn’t very good, even in summer. The “package holiday” was particularly(特別地) popular with most families.

In the 1980s and 1990s, young people in the UK became wealthier, so many of them traveled to countries all over the world for their holidays.

These years, especially after the world financial crisis(金融危機(jī)), most British people can not afford to spend their holidays abroad. They again begin to choose to stay in their own home and go on a few day trips rather than spending money on hotels. They call this sort of vacation a “staycation”.

Last week I was riding my special motorbike and then stopped at a convenience store. As I was getting my wheelchair off the back, a man watched me from his car and I noticed a wheelchair in his back seat. We spoke for a moment and I asked him about the wheelchair. He answered that it was for his daughter. Well, do you think she would like to go for a ride on my motorbike with me? I asked. He seemed shocked that a total stranger would ask him this. He thought about it for a second and said, OK, as long as I can follow you. He introduced me to Amy and he sat her on my back seat. Her father followed me for a few miles and she talked non-stop about what she wanted for Christmas.

As we came back to the convenience store, she said, This ride is the best Christmas present I could ever receive. I have been in a wheelchair my whole life and didnt know I could do this. He hugged me and said, I was sitting here praying for a gift for Amy that would encourage her. She often felt that her life was dull compared to other children. God answered my prayer just now.
