    閱讀下面短文,然后按照要求寫一篇150詞左右的英語短文。

I will never forget the lesson which Mr. Li gave us. One day Mr. Li was speaking to us in our school meeting room.  He began his speech by holding up a ¥ 100 bill. He asked, "Who would like this ¥ 100 bill?"  Most of us put up our hands quickly. Then he said, "I am going to give this ¥ 100 to one of you, but first let me do this."  He then made the bill into a ball and said; "Who wants it now?" We raised our hands again.  But he said,“Wait a moment.”He then dropped it on the floor and stepped on it.  After that, he picked up the dirty bill and said, "Who still wants it?" Many hands were still up.

"My friends," he said, "you have learned a valuable lesson today. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not go down in value. It was still worth ¥ 100."

"We sometimes lose confidence in ourselves." He went on speaking, "We feel as if we are worth nothing. But remember, no matter what has happened to you, you will never lose your value: you are always valuable to those people who love you.  Your value doesn't come from what you do or who you know, but WHO YOU ARE."

"You are special and valuable. Don't ever forget it!'

    A. Practice speaking as often as you can -- even speaking to yourself is good practice. Try recording yourself whenever you can.

    B. It helps if you can learn with someone else. If you can persuade a friend or family member to study with you, it will make you keep working. Agree times to meet and set goals for the week. And test each other regularly.

    C. Practice improvising (即興的) ways of getting your meaning across, even if you don't know the exact words or phrases. Think of things you might want to say whenever you have time. An example is the use of tenses. Use facial expressions, hand movements, anything to get your meaning across.

    D. Guesswork is important in learning a new language. When listening to recorded material, you aren't expected to understand everything the first round. If you play the same piece several times, you will most probably understand something new each time. Learn to make maximum (最大限度) use of all the clues (提示) you can pick up.

    E. A wide vocabulary is the key to successful language learning, but don't try to learn too much vocabulary at once.

    F. If you are the person on the bus, street or restaurant asking how you can improve your English, you are on the right track. The only way to improve your speaking is by speaking. Don't worry about a bad accent or forgetting words or not being understood.

   以下是學(xué)習(xí)者在學(xué)習(xí)英語中所碰到的閑難。請匹配這些困難與他們所對應(yīng)的學(xué)習(xí)方法。

The food we eat seems to have a great effect on our health. Although science has made big steps in making food more fit to eat, it has, at the same time, made many foods unfit to eat. Some research has shown that perhaps eighty percent of human illness is related to food and forty percent of cancer is related to food as well. That food is related to illness is not a new discovery. In 1945, some researchers realized that things commonly used to keep colour in meats and other food additives(添加劑)caused cancer.

Yet, these additives remain in our food, and it is difficult to know which things on the wrappings(包裝)of foods are helpful or harmful. The additives which we eat are not all so direct. Farmers often give penicillin to their animals, and because of this, penicillin has been found in the milk of cows. Sometimes similar things are supplied to animals not for their health, but just to make a profit.

The farmers are simply trying to fatten the animals in order to get a higher price on the market. Although some countries have tried to control such things, the practice continues.

  A. to make food more unfit to eat

The easy way out isn't always easiest. I learned that lesson when I decided to treat Doug, my husband of one month, to a special meal. I glanced through my cookbook and chose a menu which included homemade bread. Knowing the bread would take time, I started on it as soon as Doug left for work. As I was not experienced in cooking, I thought if a dozen was good, two dozen would be better, so I doubled everything. As Doug loved oranges, I also opened a can of orange and poured it all into the bowl. Soon there was a sticky dough (面團) covered with ugly yellowish marks . Realizing I had been defeated, I put the dough in the rubbish bin outside so I wouldn't have to face Doug laughing at my work. I went on preparing the rest of the meal and, when Doug got home, we sat down to Cornish chicken with rice. He tried to enjoy the meal but seemed disturbed. Twice he got up and went outside, saying he thought he heard a noise. The third time he left, I went to the windows to see what he was doing. Looking out, I saw Doug standing about three feet from the rubbish bin, holding the lid up with a stick and looking into the container. When I came out of the house, he dropped the stick and explained that there was something alive in our rubbish bin. Picking up the stick again, he held the lid up enough for me to see. I felt cold. But I stepped closer and looked harder. Without doubt it was my work. The hot sun had caused the dough to double in size and the fermenting yeast (酵母) made the surface shake and sigh as though it were breathing . I had to admit what the "living thing" was and why it was there. I don't know who was more embarrassed by the whole thing--- Doug or me.
