There once lived a young man who was always unhappy and complained about his poverty. One day, he went to see a fortune teller to inquire how to become1. The fortune teller said, "Young man, you are already wealthy now."
"Where is my wealth?" the young man asked2.
"It is with you. Your3is (are) your wealth. You use them to see this world. You use them to see all the4things in this world. You can read, study and learn. Your hands are your wealth. You can use them to work. You can use them to hug your beloved ones. Your5are your wealth. You can go to any places..." the fortune teller said.
"You call these wealth? Everyone has them," the young man said.
"These are wealth. What you have now are not what others can luckily have. Are you6to give your eyes to me? I am willing to give you a lot of money to7for them," the fortune teller said.
"No, are you crazy? I am not going to exchange my eyes for money! They are8to me!" the young man9.
"Precisely, these are wealth to you. You will not exchange them for money. Furthermore, although a lot of people have their wealthy things, they do not10them or treasure them. They are not11to Heaven for giving them their wealth. They even complain that Heaven is unfair to them. Do you want to12one of them before you will treasure them?" the fortune teller said.
Everyone is wealthy. But we should not13it for granted. We need to treasure our wealth, take care of it and use it14. We should not overuse it because once it is15, it is gone forever. Remember it is our wealth that we do not want to lose.

Several years ago, while attending a communication course, I experienced a most unusual process. The instructor asked us to list1 in our past that we felt 2 of, regretted, or incomplete about and read our lists aloud.
This seemed like a very 3 process, but there’s always some 4soul in the crowd who will volunteer. The instructor then 5 that we find ways to 6 people, or take some action to right any wrong doings. I was seriously wondering how this could ever 7 my communication.
Then the man next to me raised his hand and volunteered this story: “Making my8, I remembered an incident from high school. I grew up in a small town. There was a Sheriff 9 of us kids liked. One night, my two buddies(同伴) and I decided to play a 10 on him.
After drinking a few beers, we climbed the tall water tank in the middle of the town, and wrote on the tank in bright red paint: Sheriff Brown is a s.o.b. (畜生). The next day, almost the whole town saw our glorious 11. Within two hours, Sheriff Brown had us in his office. My friends told the truth but I lied. No one 12 found out.”
“Nearly 20 years later, Sheriff Brown’s name 13 on my list. I didn’t even know if he was still 14. Last weekend, I dialed the information in my hometown and found there was a Roger Brown still listed. I tried his number. After a few 15, I heard, “Hello?” I said, “Sheriff Brown?” Paused. “Yes.” “Well, this is Jimmy Calkins.”
“And I want you to know that I did it.” Paused. “I knew it!” he yelled back. We had a good laugh and a 16 discussion. His closing words were: “Jimmy, I always felt bad for you 17 your buddies got it off their chest, but you were carrying it 18 all these years. I want to thank you for calling me...for your sake.”
Jimmy inspired me to 19all 101 items on my list within two years, and I always remember what I learned from the course: It’s never too late to 20the past wrongdoings.

When I first started to read “Pride and Prejudice”, I thought the novel was going to be the same old1“l(fā)ove story”. However, after reading the first few pages I began to be2that it wasn’t that sort of story, instead it had an interesting insight (洞察力) on marriage, family and social status. I3that the time frame was somewhere back in the late 1800’s. This assumption was just a fact that I took for granted because there was no date4in any part of the novel. From what I got in the class5, this story is supposed to be a timeless piece that can be framed with any time period. This was one thing I would have never picked up by myself.

This is also where the discussion helped me catch up on the character roles. Reading again the parts that I thought were important also helped me gain a better10of the story.

Soon after we were given the project, my 4went out to McDonald’s. We were waiting to be 5, when all of a sudden everyone around us began to 6, and even my husband did. There standing behind me were two homeless men 7.
