Just take it one minute at a time.” On Wednesday my mood 12when I read, “What you are feeling now is 13and normal. It still feels very bad, but it is part of the healing 14.” Friday’s card contained a poem he wrote. The last lines made me smile through my tears. “Whatever special 15you face along life’s way, may you 16that you will find the best in every day.” I was instructed to open the last card 17the party I went to on Saturday night. In it he wisely reminded me to 18. “The world isn’t so bad after a good laugh. The more you laugh, the more you heal.” Each card was signed, “Love, Dad.”
My world once collapsed but I 19the difficult breakup eventually. It owed to my dad , who made his 20known when he couldn’t be present.

Eighty-year-old retired tailor, James McKay, spent Saturday night in jail after 1 thirty-year-old Keith Smith over the head 2 his walking stick.McKay’s wife, Laurence told us that while McKay is usually a 3 person, he had been 4 to this act of violence by getting wet just once too often.
Smith lives above the McKays and it appears that not only is he a keen gardener, he is also a 5 collector.Unfortunately for him, the water he sent over his balcony every day ended up on the McKay’s, or too often, on the McKays 6.
“For the last fortnight, since Smith moved into the flat above us, we have hardly dared to go to our 7,” said Laurene. She added that it wasn’t so much the water falling onto their balcony from Smith watering his plant 8 bothered them, it was more the way he cleaned his fish tanks.“We’d be 9 there happily reading our newspapers, when 10 so much water would come from above that we’d be as wet as if we’d 11 with our clothes on! Neither could we get rid of the 12 of fish!”
And on Saturday evening it was just too 13.“It was James’s birthday,” explained Laurene, “and I’d made him a birthday cake. The candles were a great sight as you can imagine, but James didn’t get to blow them out.” 14, Smith emptied one of his larger tanks over his balcony and both the McKays and the cake were wet 15.Rarely had Laurene seen McKay move so fast.“I couldn’t 16 him.He was up there in a flash. It was the fastest I’d seen him move since 1964.”
Smith is not going to take things further with the police. He has also promised to change his17 from now on.And what of James McKay? 18 he left the police station, a large crowd of supporters sang him, “Happy Birthday”.“19 the most exciting birthday 20!” said the cheerful old man.“The best since my adolescence I’d say!”

The man measured his4and told Joseph that he could choose between two5: a rounded toe or a square toe. Little Joseph couldn’t6. It seemed to be such a huge decision;7, it would become his only pair of shoes for a long time.
The cobbler8him to take a couple of days to make up his9. Day after day, Joseph went into the shop, sometimes three or four times a10! I learn a17here about decisions: If I don’t make decisions myself, others will18make them for me. Better than I make them myself.
And if I choose19from time to time, that’s okay, too. At least I won’t have to20shoes that don’t match. Besides, I’11 probably do better the next time.

We took the bus from the suburb every early morning that summer 3 years ago. One of the passengers was a small1man who took the bus to the centre for senior citizens every morning. He walked with a stoop (佝僂) and a sad look on his face when he, with some difficulty,2the bus and sat down alone behind the driver. No one ever paid very much attention to him.
Then one3morning he said good morning to the driver and smiled before he sat down. The driver4guardedly. The rest of us were silent. The next day, the old man boarded the bus energetically,5and said in a loud voice: “And a very good morning to you all!” Some of us looked up, amazed, and murmured “Good morning,”6. The following weeks we were more alert (留意的). Our friend was now dressed in a nice old suit and a wide out-of-date7. The thin hair had been carefully combed. He said good morning to us every day and we8began to nod and talk to each other.
One morning he had a bunch of wild flowers in his hand. The driver9smilingly and asked:“Have you got yourself a girlfriend, Charlie?”and he nodded shyly and said yes. The other passengers10and clapped at him. Charlie bowed and waved the11before he sat down on his seat. Every morning after that Charlie always brought a flower. Some of the12passengers began bringing him flowers for his bouquet(花束).
The summer went by, and13was closing in, when one morning Charlie wasn't waiting at his usual14. When he wasn't there the next day and the day after that, we started wondering if he was sick or —15— on holiday somewhere.

Never Miss The Chance
Each spring brings a new blossom of wildflowers in the ditches along the highway I travel 1 to work.
There is one particular blue flower that has always caught my eye. I've noticed that it blooms only in the 2 hours, the afternoon sun is too warm for it. Every day for approximately two weeks, I see those beautiful flowers.
This spring, I 3 a wildflower garden in our yard. I can look out of the kitchen window while4 the dishes and see the flowers. I've 5 thought that those lovely blue flowers from the ditch would look 6 in that bed alongside other wildflowers. Every day I drove past the flowers7 , "I'11 stop on my way home and dig them." "Gee, I don't want to get my good clothes dirty..." 8 the reason, I never stopped to dig them. My husband even gave me a folding shovel one year for my trunk to be used for that 9 purpose.
One day on my way home from work, I 10 to see that the highway department had mowed the ditches and the pretty blue flowers were11. I thought to myself, "Way to go, you waited too long. You should have done it when you first saw them 12 this spring."
A week ago we were 13 and saddened to learn that my oldest sister-in-law has a terminal brain tumor. She is 20 years older than my husband and14 , because of age and distance, we haven't been as 15 as we all would have liked. I couldn't help but16 the connection between the pretty blue flowers and the 17 between my husband's sister and us. I do believe that God has given us some time18 to plant some wonderful 19 that will bloom every year for us.
And yes, if I see the blue flowers again, you can bet I'11 stop and 20 them to my wildflower garden.
