Birthdays are strange things. The more you have, the more you try and pretend they don’t matter, and the more     1.  . I’m not really sure why they think so. It’s true that you are getting older, but as     2.  , “Who isn’t getting older every day?” The problem may be that a birthday reminds people of all the things

3.  , but have not. I certainly understand that feeling, though I think    4.    that I most want to do — a kind of personal re-ordering (重新排序) of the to-do list. What makes you depressed(郁悶) on your birthday is that you realize your re-ordered to-do list is exactly the same as it was last year. That makes you feel     5.  , and not been anywhere. I have not had that experience this year. I look back at where I was last year and find things have changed since then.

A smile will tell people around you that you are a kind and friendly person. However, many people don’t smile because they think they ugly teeth. For example, one of my classmates, Mile, doesn’t have very nice teeth, so that is why he seldom opens his mouth. he even says that he has lost confidence because of his teeth. So it is very important for us to look after our teeth. In fact, a lot of people have this problem. Some people inherit teeth problems from their parents, while others’ teeth are damaged because of bad habits, like heavy smoking, eating too much sugar or not brush-ing teeth often. If your teeth are in bad shape, you should see a dentist and ask for help. They can help improve your teeth and tell you how to take care of then.

Smiling can help you to feel more confident and make other people think of you as a more friendly person. If you want to keep healthy, you should not only smile but also laugh. An Indian doctor called Katarina said that young children should laugh about 300 times a day, wile adults should laugh between 7 and 15 times a day. So please take this chance to smile and laugh now!

He was struggling(費(fèi)勁) to tie his shoes. I was struggling with whether I should help him.

   “Thank you,” he said.

“I’m glad I could help. I just thought it would be easier for me to reach,” I said.

He was a disabled man, and forced to look down most of the time. His arms and legs were twisted(扭曲的) terribly, and he couldn’t do what the rest of us would consider easy tasks.
