  Mr Li was in bed and was trying to go to sleep when he heard the bell ring.He turned on the light and looked at his clock.It was half past twelve.“Who can it be at this time of night?” he wondered.He decided to go and find out.So he got out of bed, put on his dressing gown(浴衣)and went to the door.When he opened the door, there was nobody there.“That's very strange ,”he thought.Then he went back to his bedroom, took off his dressing gown, got back into bed, turned off the ling and tried to go to sleep.

My father had a small business, employing(雇用)fifteen people at any given time. We sold all kinds of milk products. I had worked for my father since I was young,      did all seven kids in my family.

It was the end-of-year party. I had asked my mother to make us cookies. Mom’s chocolate chips were the best.
But two o’clock passed, and there was no sign of her. Most of the other mothers had come and gone, dropping off their cakes and chips. The party went on, but I wouldn’t leave the window. The three o’clock bell soon took me away from my thoughts(思緒). I took my bag and walked out for home.
