25.A.must B.have to C.can D.may(A)Who’s building the new China? It’s not the factory owners or the business men and women of China. It’s someone else. It’s the people who have left their homes to follow their dreams, the dream of a better life.We see them every day, on every street corner, on every construction site in cities. They work day and night in the terrible working conditions and weather. They build the roads, the theaters, the cinemas, and the supermarkets. They even clean up our rubbish. They are China’s migrant workers.Young and old, these men and women are building the new China from the ground up.More than 140 million workers have left their homes in the countryside to look for jobs in big cities all over China. They hope to be rich, but they realize they have many difficulties in making enough money for their family. And one of the difficulties that these workers have is the pride and discriminationfrom the people in cities. When night falls, everywhere I look I see the sad faces of the migrant workers. You can see them playing cards along the streets. Many are living far away from those whom they love.I can sometimes feel their pain, knowing exactly what it feels like to live so far away from home in a city where I walk a different walk and talk a different talk.Yes, they dress differently, they speak differently, and they have different habits, but they work hard to make money. The people in cities regard them as outsiders, and most governmentsrefuse to give them medical care and public schooling for their children. If China hopes to move into the future, many things need to changes. The first is discrimination! We need to stop our discrimination against the migrant workers of China. They may not make as much money as some people in cities, they may not have everything we have, but they are good honestpeople just trying to survive this game of life. These workers are very important and necessary to China’s economicdevelopment and have become an important forcefor the change of Chinese society. They are building the new China, so we should lend our hands and help them. 查看更多

題目列表(包括答案和解析)

Earthquakes can be very scary(嚇人的). But you need to keep your mind stable (堅(jiān)定的) in order to make sure you are safe. Be calm and try not to run here and there.
If you manage to come out of your house, go to an open space like a garden or a park where you will be a lot safer. If you live quite some floors above in your building, try to find a place near a bulky(堅(jiān)固的) object such as a bed. Curl up (蜷縮) and sit on the floor and make sure you are not near a window, fireplace, gas stove and so on. Remember don’t use lifts or escalators.
Some people say you should stand on a doorway. That is not true. If the doorway jambs (側(cè)壁) are weak, they might fall on you. Also if people want to pass through that door, you may stop them. Leave all doorways free.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that you mustn’t climb down the stairs during an Earthquake. If the tremors (震動(dòng)) stop, after a few seconds, just climb down the stairs as quickly as you can and move out of the building, but don’t run.
Earthquakes usually destroy gas pipes and electrical wires. Turn off the main gas. And don’t light candles or lighters and create an even bigger disaster.
If you’re driving and feel a shake, stop your car at the side of the road and get out. Make sure you are not on a bridge. Bridges and overhead roads (高架路) have the biggest danger of falling.

Tips for Living in China
1.Dinners
When you are invited to a dinner, you don’t have to eat everything .First, try a little of every dish by putting some on your plate or in rice bowl. You don’t have to eat it, but as a foreign guest (客人),you are supposed to be served first. If you don’t try anything, your host will be embarrassed(尷尬)---and will put it on your plate for you .
2.Bargaining
When you go to open-air markets or personal stores, you need to bargain with the shop assistants. Remember to build a friendly relationship(關(guān)系)first. You are creating a relationship with the businessman ,not a price war. Think of it this way :Shouting ,arguing ,and pointing are not good. Smiling ,being friendly, offering to buy more for a better price is. And don’t be afraid to ask,” Can you offer me a better price?”
3.Chopsticks
Don’t point with them at other people’s faces ,and by all means don’t stick them upright in your rice bowl----that is how the Chinese honor (紀(jì)念)the dead at graves. You should put them beside the plate.
4.Smiling
Chinese smile for more reasons than Americans .A smile can mean the person is embarrassed, trying to be helpful ,curious, happy or friendly .In the middle of an argument ,smiling means that the speaker doesn’t want this to become personal.
