Mike and Jack were born in the same village. They were in the same school and they always played together. Mike's father died in an accident when he was nine. His family got into trouble. Sometimes he had no money for lunch. Jack always gave some to him. And Mike's clothes were broken, Jack often asked his mother to help his friend. Mike thanked Jack very much. He promised that he would repay(報答) him when he grew up.

      After Mike finished middle school, he found a job in a factory. He worked hard and saved some money, but he wanted more. And Jack went back to the village and helped his parents work on the farm. One day, Mike met Jack at a bus stop in the town. He had to ask his friend to have supper with him. When he heard Jack was in trouble, he said nothing. "Do you remember your promise?" asked Jack. "Yes, I do," answered the young man. "If I have two cars, I'll give one to you. And if I have three houses, I'll give you two. " "Can you lend me two hundred dollars?  I'm sorry I can't. I have only six hundred dollars!"
