Today, an increasing number of people are always looking at their mobile phones with their heads down. These people are called the “Heads-down Tribe(低頭族)”. Are you a heads-down tribe member? Heads-down tribe members now can be seen everywhere.

More and more traffic accidents are happening because more drivers use mobile phones when they are driving. In order to make drivers pay more attention to driving, some new traffic rules have been made. For example, people who use mobile phones while driving in Taiwan are fined (罰款). Car drivers and motorcyclists who break the traffic rule will be fined NT$3,000 and NT$1,000 respectively(分別地).

As we can see above, using mobile phones may cause accidents and even cost a lot of money. Also, more and more interesting and strange facts happen to the “Heads-down Tribe”. Let’s have a look at an interesting TV report. A man in America kept using his mobile phone on his way home.

As a result, he knocked into a big lost bear. When he lifted his eyes from the phone,he was so afraid that he turned around and ran away quickly. Another fact is that we can often see people in the restaurant eating face to face but looking at their own mobile phones. It’s strange that they don’t talk to the ones who sit opposite to them during the meal. Some of them even have fun communicating with others on the phone.

Mobile phones are helpful and necessary tools for modern life. Are mobile phones good or bad? It depends on how people use them. Let’s be “healthy” users and try to be the “Heads-up Tribe”.

Every year in March, while the two session(會(huì)議) are being held in Beijing, government officials give sports to the public. And they answer questions from journalists from both home and abroad. For this reason, interpreters(口譯員) play a very important role.

Zhang Lu is one of them. She usually interprets for top leaders. Zhang is known for her translations of Chinese literary quotes (文學(xué)典故). From the ancient poem Li Sao to the shi,ci and qu writing of later dynasties, she can interpret them well.

How are interpreters like Zhang able to work so correctly and quickly? The source of their ability is largely hard work. Most of them majored in English in college and went through a great deal of training. After they become interpreters, they never stop learning. Zhang watches and listens to foreign media such as BBC, VOA and CNN on TV or the radio every day as part of her training. She described it as an “unshakable (不可動(dòng)搖) routine”. She hardly ever breaks it.

According to China Radio International, a month before the two sessions, the interpreters are told who they are going to interpret for. They then make full use of the month to prepare themselves. They try to predict what kinds of questions might be asked. They also look at literary quotes that the spokesperson might plan to use when they answer questions.

There is no “secret” to the success of China’s best interpreters. It comes from hard work.

1.What does Zhang Lu do?

A. A top leader B. A government official C. A interpreter D. A journalist

2.Zhang Lu trains herself by ______

C. predicting the questions D. listening to foreign media every day.

4.The passage mainly talks about _______

A. why interpreters play an important role
