   It was very cold last Sunday. Paul and his friend Allan went to the lake after breakfast. The river was frozen,and they began to skate on the ice. Paul skated better than Allan and he skated fast. Suddenly,the ice broke. Paul fell into the water. Allan tried to save him,but he also fell into the lake. Just at that moment,two travellers were passing by and saw what was happening. They rushed towards the boys and helped them out of the water. The boys later learnt that ice should be at least 4 inches thick to skate on. They felt very lucky not to lose their lives.
