【題目】 It happened to me recently that I was telling someone how much I enjoyed reading Barack Obama’s Dreams from My Father and how it had changed my views of the former US president. The person I was talking to agreed with me that it was a wonderfully written book. However, he then went on to talk about Mr. Obama, which showed that he had no idea of his background at all. I realized that I was talking to a book liar.

______ Nearly two thirds of people have lied about reading a book which they haven’t read. In the World Book Day survey, Dreams from My Father is at number 9. The survey lists top ten books, and different writers, which people have lied about. As I don’t lie very often, I’ll admit (承認(rèn)) that I haven’t read all the ten books. But I am pleased to say that I have read the book at number one, George Orwell’s 1984. I think it’s absolutely outstanding.

When people were asked why they lied, the most common reason was to impress someone they were speaking to. This could be difficult if the conversation went deeper!

The World Book Day survey also has some other interesting information in it. It shows that many people lie about having read classical works by Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, Charles Dickens and so on. But when asked which writers they really enjoy, they named J.K. Rowling, Jilly Cooper, and Stephen King (ah, the big sellers). Forty-one percent of people asked said they turned to the back of the book to read the end before finishing the story.
So which books have you lied about reading-if any-and which is your favorite?

1Which of the following can be the missing part in Paragraph 2?

A.Do you know what a book liar is?

B.And it seems that that person is not the only one.

C.Dreams from My Father is really popular in the world.

D.I’m a book liar, too.

2What does the World Book Day survey show?

A.Over 40% of people didn’t really read a whole book by famous writers.

B.People don’t like Dreams from My Father and 1984.

C.Few people lie about having read classical works by Jane Austen.

D.Many people like Charles Dickens better than J. K. Rowling.

【題目】 Like many other countries around the world, China hopes to explore the moon. It has already done so with several probes(探測(cè)器) and lunar rover(月球車(chē)). But it has even bigger plans to put a man on the moon in the near future.

Yang Liwei, China's first man in space, said that it will "not take long" for a manned mission(任務(wù))to get offcial agreement and money support, according to the Xinhua News Agency.

China's space programme is still young compared to those of the United States and Russia. But it has already made great achievements in exploring the moon. Its moon mission began with Chang'e 1, an unmanned orbital(軌道)probe that was sent up in October,2007. It collected data that was used to create a 3-D map of the moon's surface.

China achieved another achievement with the Chang'e 3 mission. For this mission, China's first lunar rover, Yutu, successfully landed on the moon.

For China's space programme, it was another great achievement that Chang'e 4, the second lunar rover successfully landed on the moon's far side, an area that has not yet been explored, in December, 2018.

China will follow Chang'e 4 with a series of other lunar mission. These missions will include taking lunar soil and rock samples, building "moon base, and hopefully landing a human on the moon's surface around 2030, according to Zhao Xiaojin, a senior official at the China Academy of Space Technology.

Last year, when Yang Liwei was asked if he had any plans to visit the moon himself, he replied, "If I am given the chance, no problem!" It is likely that many other Chinese share Yang's excitement about this new stage of China's space exploration efforts.
