get along well with“與…
feel proud of“為……
She worked hardly at her lessons…
用來(lái)表示過(guò)去習(xí)慣性的動(dòng)作,用過(guò)去將來(lái)時(shí),所以should改成would。
as a result意為“結(jié)果”,是固定短語(yǔ),所以In改成As。
better已經(jīng)是比較級(jí),所以刪除more或改成much,much可以修飾比較級(jí)。
這是一個(gè)強(qiáng)調(diào)句,強(qiáng)調(diào)句的基本句型是:it is / was + 被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分+ that +句子的其他成分,如果被強(qiáng)調(diào)的部分是人,也可以用who代替that,所以which改成that或who。

Security guard, truck driver, salesperson—year after year, these jobs appear on lists of the unhappiest careers. Although many factors can make a job unhappy, unusual hours, low pay, no chance for advancement — these three gigs stand out for another reason: a lack of small talk.
Psychologists have long said that connecting with others is central to well-being, but just how much conversation we require is under investigation. In one study, researchers eavesdropped(竊聽(tīng)) on undergraduates for four days, then cataloged each overheard conversation as either small talk (What do you have there? Popcorn?(Yummy!) or serious (So did they get divorced soon after?). They found that the second type related with happiness—the happiest students had roughly twice as many serious talks as the unhappiest ones. Small talk, meanwhile, made up only 10 percent of their conversation, versus almost 30 percent of conversation among the least content students.
However, don't just consider chat worthless yet. Scientists believe that small talk could promote linking. Chatting with strangers could brighten your morning. In a series of experiments, psychologists gave Chicago travelers varying directions about whether to talk with fellow train passengers something they typically avoided. Those told to chat with others reported a more pleasant journey than those told to enjoy your being alone or to do whatever they normally would. None of the chatters reported being rejected. And the results held for introverts(內(nèi)向者) and extroverts(外向者) alike which makes sense, since acting extroverted has a positive effect on introverts.
Small talk can also help us feel connected to our surroundings. People who smiled at, made eye contact with, and briefly spoke with their Starbucks reported a greater sense of belonging than those who rushed through the business. Similarly, one not yet published paper found that when volunteers broke the silence of the Tate Modern to chat with gallery goers, the visitors felt happier and more connected to the exhibit than those who were not approached.
So go ahead, pry. Chitchat needn’t be idle. And nosiness isn’t all bad.

Do you have lunch at school? Do you like having lunch at school? School dinners (that means “l(fā)unch”) are a hot topic in the UK these days and there are lots of different opinions about what young people eat at lunchtime. Some people think that school meals are unhealthy; some people say that they are much better than in the past and others say that midday meals should be free for all school children.
A typical school dinner costs about 2 pounds a day for a secondary pupil in the UK. There is usually a main course, a dessert and a drink. Parents often pay in advance online. School dinners must include food groups such as fruit and vegetables, protein (for example meat, fish or cheese) and carbohydrate (for example rice or pasta). Martha Payne, from Scotland, started a blog called Neverseconds about her school dinners when she was just nine years old. She posts photographs of her lunch every day and gives the food a grade out of ten. The grade depends on the quality and quantity of the food and how healthy it is. She doesn't always give good grades. Her complaints include too much fried food, small quantities and hair in the food. Many people read her blog and young people from all over the world post pictures, of their school meals on Neverseconds.
Jamie Oliver, the celebrity British chef, is concerned about school dinners. He thinks that they need to be healthier and tastier. Jamie helped to promote Martha's blog by tweeting (在推特上寫(xiě)) about it and Neverseconds became very popular, very quickly on social media websites.
