The Gold Wax(蠟像) Museum is one of the Cold Coast's longest running attractions. It's a collection of famous figures. It's Australia's largest museum of its kind, featuring more than 110 life-size wax figures copies of British and Australian History.
The Wax Museum is visited by many thousands of people each year who are shocked at the amazing realism of the life-size figures in authentic costumes. This is your invitation to wander through at your leisure and meet many important and famous people's figures on Queensland's Gold Coast.
Come face to face with such celebrities as Michael Jackson, President Obama, past President John F. Kennedy, King Hussein, members of the Royal Family, and many others whose lives have all left an indelible (擦不掉的) mark on our world. Information cards are located alongside each figure.
The Gold Coast Wax Museum contains figures which have been made by leading local and overseas sculptors to international standards, equal in quality to the world's best, as seen in Europe, the United Kingdom, and U. 【解析】
而D項錯在除了圣誕節(jié)以外,根據(jù)原文“Closed at Christmas Day (25 Dec.) and Anzac Day (25 Apr.)”可以看出。
【2】C 本題考查獲取信息能力。題干為“如果一對夫婦和他10歲的孩子去參觀蠟像館,他們一共支付多少錢?”根據(jù)原文:Family (2 Adults + I Child) $68.00可知。
【3】D 本題考查推斷能力。從本文最后一句的click(點擊)“For further information, please click here to see more about the Gold Coast Wax Museum.”可推斷出文章應(yīng)節(jié)選自一個網(wǎng)站。只有網(wǎng)頁有點擊鏈接功能,從而了解詳細信息。

It is reported that thirty cellphones taken away by teachers during the examination and were smashed (銷毀) in front of students and parents at a high school. As to this, we hold a heated discussion. There are two different viewpoints about them.
Some think it necessarily. Firstly, with cellphones, students would have focused their attention on studying instead of wasting their precious time reading junk message. Secondly, the examination will be fair if no one cheats using cellphones. However, the others think it otherwise. For one thing, at the age of information, cellphones have become a necessity. For another, students can use cellphones for study.
Personally spoken, even if some students use cellphones for no good reason, we should educate them more than destroy cellphones in such an extreme way.

【題目】Americans plan parties for many reasons. As in other cultures, many Americans attend parties for weddings and religious or national holidays. But some parties are especially American. For example, a group of neighbors may gather on their street to eat food, play music and visit with one another. This is called a block party. A woman might invite a group of women to a party called a baby shower for a friend who is about to give birth. Guests bring presents for the new baby.
Americans also attend tailgate parties. A tailgate is the back end of a truck or other vehicle that opens down. The tailgate parties are a big part of sports culture in the United States. Friends bring food and drink to a sports event. They eat together in the parking area of the sports stadium.
Birthday parties are also very popular. Many parents organize a party for their child around a theme. Birthday parties usually include gifts and a birthday cake with candles. In many parts of the United States, cupcakes have become a popular replacement for cakes.
Birthday parties can be low cost or very costly. Some parents take their children’s birthday parties very seriously, even when the child is too young to fully understand the celebration.
One group of parents started a website called Birthdays Without Pressure. They decided that some parents were under too much social pressure to plan costly parties for their children. The group sees this movement as an example of America’s culture of “too much stuff”. The group’s website gives suggestions on how to keep birthday celebrations simple, meaningful and fun without spending a lot of money.
