16.As the leaves change color in autumn, students return to school. As a frost covers the ground each night,we are busy planting vegetables in northern Wisconsin.
Five public school districts in northern Wisconsin recently built high tunnels(隧道)for the winter growing season. The schools'high tunnels, made of metal frame and a plastic covering the raised beds, keep plants warm enough to extend the growing season through the winter and allow an earlier spring planting. Our very short growing season occurs almost entirely during the summer vacation months. This makes the high tunnels necessary in allowing students to gain experience of growing and marketing produce in a cold climate where production at this scale couldn't otherwise happen during the school year.
During the summer, the high tunnels on school grounds still need to remain there. We developed the Agripreneur program(Agriculture+Entrepreneur)to support students'work in the high tunnels during months when students are are on holidays. This program was made possible by a farm and a university. Each summer,a pair of students will be hired from every high school to care for and sell a single crop in exchange for instruction from professional lo-cal farmers, growing experience, and a salary.
The Agripreneur program appeared for its first season during the summer of 2015.Students grew tomatoes that were sold to community members, local restaurants and the school cafeterias(食堂).The program met its goal of increasing the number of local vegetables consumed, both within the region and in school lunches.Sales to school cafeterias will continue through the winter as the high tunnels'change to nutrient root vegetables, all grown by students.
We may live in winter, but with the recent addition of these school high tunnels, our students are able to eat the freshest local vegetables available-even during the coldest months.

解答 32.A,細(xì)節(jié)理解題,根據(jù)句子The schools'high tunnels, made of metal frame and a plastic covering the raised beds, keep plants warm enough to extend the growing season through the winter and allow an earlier spring planting.可知,這些高高的隧道其實就是來讓植物保暖,以延長其生長季節(jié),即溫室,故答案為A.
33.C,細(xì)節(jié)理解題,根據(jù)句子Our very short growing season occurs almost entirely during the summer vacation months. This makes the high tunnels necessary in allowing students to gain experience of growing and marketing produce in a cold climate 可知,這些隧道建在學(xué)校區(qū)域是因為那兒的植物生長季節(jié)很短,故答案為C.
34.D,細(xì)節(jié)理解題,根據(jù)短文中We developed the Agripreneur program(Agriculture+Entrepreneur)to support students'work in the high tunnels during months when students are are on holidays可知,"農(nóng)業(yè)企業(yè)項目"是為了支持學(xué)生在假期的工作,故答案為D.

11.Advertising actually has a dual(雙重的)function:to sell,as well as to inform.If you stop to think of it,advertisements(ads)provide information of almost everything in our household and immediate environment,from shampoo to fuel for cars.An obvious purpse is to inform consumers of new products and services as well as to remind them of established ones.Performance,price,value for money,quality and reliability are some of the main features mentioned in ads.
Yet there is another important side of advertising that should not be forgotten:choice.A number of ads for different brands of the same product,e.g.toothpaste,shampoo or washing powder allow the consumer to choose.Choice is an important part of buying.
In this busy day and age,there is little time for comparison shopping.To determine which product is the best to buy,and at the most competitive price,consumers these days rely on advertising in its various forms.This saves time and energy and makes shopping easier.
Few can deny that ads benefit the consumer since they encourage healthy competition.When companies compete for the consumer's dollar,this is good for the purchaser of the product or service.Advertising tends to increase competition since it informs consumers of what is available.One company's offer will be either matched or bettered by another copany in its advertising.
It was unheard of ten years ago to buy products directly using a personal computer,but it has become a matter of course for some people to browse(瀏覽)the Internet,surf  until they find an e commerce site and then select the product.Marketing products has been almost turned upside down by new ways of selling and buying.More than at any time in history,the choice of goods is unlimited.The whole world is a customer's marketplace.For busy people like you and me,advertisements actually do us a favor.
5.What the writer of this passage want to tell us most is thatA.
A.a(chǎn)dvertisements benefit busy peole in many ways
B  advertisements encourage more business competitions
C  advertisements provide main features of new products
D  selling and informing are two functions of advertising
6.Which is least discussed in the passage as,one of the important sides of advertising?D
A.To inform consumers of new products and services.
B  To provide consumers with chances to choose.
C  To increase healthy competition of companies.
D  To change the way of selling and buying.
7.The"comparison shopping"refers to the behavior ofB.
A.comparing and buying a product at th lowest price
B.comparing and deciding which is the best to buy
C.relying on advertising and simplifying shopping
D.buying a product at the least competitive price
8.Healthy competition benefits consumers becauseD.
A  it helps companies to compete fo the market
B.it gets companies to improve their services

1.For several years,the art trade in London has known about the possible existence of the"treasure of the western cave",dating from the 6th century BC.It was said to have been discovered"by farmers"in western Iran around 1992.Out of between 200and 600pieces,only a few have so far"surfaced".The Iranians were very angry that they managed to seize only part of the collection and that the rest was taken abroad illegally.But now they may worry less.An academic paper has just produced convincing evidence that at least one piece is a fake (贗品).
Fakes always exist in the world of antiquities(古物),but what is astonishing is how widespread they are now.A report from the Archaeological Institute of America concludes that no less than 80per cent of all"ancient"west African pieces on the market are fake.How can this"forgery(偽造) culture"boom?It is found that about 80per cent of the antiquities traded have no clear source.In other words,it is not known where they were found and therefore,even if they are real,they can tell us little about ancient history.
People in the trade say that the majority of these objects were found in"casual discoveries".Shamefully,they know that this is not true.They advance the fiction because it suits their commercial purposes.The reality is that the objects come from robbery,not by local farmers"happening"on a few finds.The"treasure of the western cave"is a classic example of how faking works.
Faking is big business,and is of such a standard that even the greatest scholars may be fooled some of the time.The antiquities trade likes to play down not only the extent of robbery and faking,but also the overlap between the two.These latest reports let the cat out of the bag.But it is the overlap with robbed antiquities that is the most significant factor,which leads to the culture of forgery.
Collectors of antiquities need to be aware that they not only aid the robbery of potentially invaluable sites, but put themselves at the mercy of fakers as well….

67.What do we probably know about the"treasure of the western cave"?C
A.It's slightly broken.
B.It's totally real.
C.It's partly fake.
D.It's fairly new.
68.What astonishes the author?A
A.The huge number of fakes.
B.The long history of fakes.
C.The influence of fakes.
D.The origin of fakes.
69.According to the passage,"forgery culture"mainly results fromD.
A.a(chǎn) belief in"casual discoveries"
B.high faking standards
C.a(chǎn)ntiquities without a clear source
D.close combination of robbery and faking
70.Which is probably the last sentence of the passage?D
A.This is the main source for robbery.
B.What shall be done to stop this trend?
C.Are collectors of antiquities aware of it?
D.They are being not just dishonest,but foolish.

Dear Tom,

I’m more than happier that you’re interested in Chinese culture. Now let me tell you something about a Dragon Boat Festival.

It’s a traditional Chinese festival falling in the 5th day of the 5th month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It’s widely believed that the festival held in memory the great poet Qu Yuan, who lived in ancient times. Disappointed with the government,he drowned him in the Miluo River.

The festival is celebrated by boat racing, with the boats building in the shape of dragons. Competing teams row their boats forward to the drumbeat, race to reach the finishing end first. We also have the custom of eating zongzi, wrapped with bamboo leaf. It’s very popularly among Chinese people.

If you will want to know about other Chinese traditional festivals, just write to me.

Yours,

Li Hua
