Last week, our school had organized an activity to climb the West Mountain. As soon as we arrived at the foot of a mountain, we set out for the summit in high spirits. During the climb, we had such much difficulty passing the rocky areas. But under the teacher’s help, we eventually reached the top, where we greeted by the bright sunshine and fresh air. Seeing from the top, the city was extreme beautiful. This event turned out to be very success. Not only did we take a break from our heavy school work, and also we learned what to communicate with each other.

The intelligent bicycle runs on electricity. A commercial-available bicycle is expected to be on the market in the next two years and should sell for between 1, 700 euros to 3, 200 euros per bicycle. It weighs about 55 pounds but researchers are working on making the on-board systems smaller.

‘‘Accidents often happen when cyclists look behind them or get frightened when they are passed at high speed,” said Maurice Kwakkernaat, one of the scientists involved in the project, “The on-board system technology has already been at work in the automotive (自動(dòng)的) industry”.

“More and more elderly people are using a bicycle，not only for short distances，but also for longer distances,” Dutch Environment Minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen said, “This type of bicycle is truly needed in the Netherlands because it will help us bring down the number of elderly people who are injured every year and allow them to continue enjoying cycling,” she said．

Today my daughter and I went to sell eggs at a parking lot.It is a really cold day.I didn't even want to go outside. As we pulled into parking lot,we saw a man sat on the side of the road.He was holding a paper plate which said "I need help!".

He was still sitting there as we left for the parking lot,and I asked my daughter "Should they get him some food and some money?"and she said "OK.".So I pulled up next to him,got out of the car,but gave him all my egg money.I still had another dozen egg in the car,and asked if he wanted them,but he said no.I felt freezing just standing there talking with him for a minute,and he must have been sitting there since hours.

In the past, my hometown was very small. People there lived poor life and the houses.were very old and shabby, even some of which were shaking in the wind. As for the traffic，it was very inconvenient that almost no tourists came.

However, there has been many changes in my hometown until now . Life has become better．The houses become larger and brighter，but more people get their own cars. Everywhere is decorated with green trees and beautiful flowers and grass. What's more，thousands of tourist from the world came here every year, that is really splendid. I was asked to deliver the speech before the whole class at the age of 9! I felt shy the moment I thought of that. Therefore, I had no choice but to prepare for them. Broken ice dams are not the only dam problems that can cause flooding.When a large human-made dam breaks or fails to hold the water collected behind it,the results can be devastating.Dams contain such huge amounts of water behind them that when sudden breaks occur,the great force of the water is like a great tidal wave.The dam waters can travel tens of kilometres,cover the ground in metres of mud and litter,and drown and crush every thing and creature in their path.
