【答案】Dear Mark,

I know from your e-mail that you are learning Chinese this semester and ask me for some advice. Here are my suggestions.

First, you should listen carefully to your teacher in class and practice as often as possible after class because mastering a language requires a lot of practice. Second, I’d like to recommend you to read some Chinese story books, which helps you enlarge your vocabulary and understand the different meanings of the words. Third, I think it is a good idea to communicate with Chinese native speakers. Last but not least, watching Chinese movies and listening to Chinese songs are good ways to learn idiomatic Chinese.

I hope my advice will be helpful.

Yours,

Li Hua

Here are my suggestions.簡潔明了地說明下文是給出的建議;First…,Second…,Third…,Last but not least的使用使文章層次分明,連貫流暢;文章使用了高級句型:…because mastering a language requires a lot of practice使用了原因狀語從句;…which helps you enlarge your vocabulary and understand the different meanings of the words.使用了非限制性定語從句;…it is a good idea to communicate with Chinese native speakers使用形式主語it,不定式短語是真正主語;…watching Chinese movies and listening to Chinese songs are good ways to learn idiomatic Chinese使用了動名詞作主語。

My sister saw a lovely cup when we were shopping the another day. She began to like it at once. Then she bent down and picked it down to look at the price on them. My sister was about to get out of the shop fast as she could when a shop assistant come over to us. It turned out to being her own cup, which she'd left on the shelf by the mistake. Summer is the season to dive into new activities and relax. And right now is the time to make sure that you're ready for the great outdoors, the holiday planning and travel, and the bathing suit beach days.
If you want to lose weight before summer, concentrate on dropping no more than a pound or two a week. And when you trouble yourself, sooner or later you're going to gain it back. Operate on a 500-calorie-a-day deficit (虧損). So if you cut 500 calories a day for seven days straight, you'll lose a pound a week right there.
Operating at a decrease of 500 calories a day should involve both eating less and moving more. For example, you could consume 300 fewer calories and bum 200 extra per day.
Include both healthy eating and exercise in your weight-loss plan, and break the 500-calorie goal into small groups to make it more reachable.
To cut 100 calories: Have vegetable pizza instead of pepperoni (意大利辣香腸). Use our Nutritional Needs Calculator to determine how many daily calories you should consume in order to lose, gain, or maintain your healthy goal weight. Once you've reached your goal, recalculate your nutritional needs for keeping extra weight off all summer long.
To burn 100 calories: spend 15 minutes biking. Spend 20 minutes gardening. Keep on exercising at least 30 minutes daily a week. Reading food labels and counting calories or writing down what and when you eat can give you more control as well.
A. Here are some simple ways to get there.

【題目】閱讀理解
My decision to travel around China lay merely with my curiosity about the place. Before coming here, China seemed alien to me ----a place that expected to be hugely dissimilar from my own British culture.
After travelling from Beijing up to Xi'an, I wanted to challenge myself by choosing a smaller town----Xiahe in Gansu Province. I arrived in Lanzhou at around 5 am, but there were no buses to Xiahe. I managed to spot a policeman and attempted to explain my destination to him in simple English, praying that he would understand. I wasn't sure that he did but I just followed him anyway as I had no choice. He took me on a bus and I didn't know where I was going. Luckily, I met a student who explained to me in English that the policeman was taking me to another bus station where I could take a bus to Xiahe. During this conversation a third man said he was also a policeman and would help me buy tickets. But as he was not in uniform, I was a little doubtful. The uniformed policeman told me it was OK to go with the third man, so I got off the bus with the so-called policeman who at this point, disappeared and I was left in the middle of nowhere. I stood panicking. Around one minute later a police car came and stopped right by me. It was the un-uniformed policeman. I got into the car and he dropped me directly at the bus station, and helped me buy the ticket.
This is one of many experiences that I have had in China. I realized that however different this culture was, there was one thing that would always stand out—kindness. In the west we seem to lack the foundation of trust, yet in China it seems that there will always be someone to answer your questions and lead you the right way.

D.A police car took the un-uniformed policeman away.
(3)Why did the un-uniformed policeman disappear after the author got off the bus?
A.He hurried to buy a ticket for the author.
B.He went to get a car to pick the author up.
C.The author didn't behave in a friendly way.
D.The author found a uniformed policeman to help him.
(4)According to the text, what impressed the author deeply in China?
A.Beautiful scenes.
B.Terrible transportation.
C.Troubles in small towns.
D.People's kindness.
