Yesterday morning, I was surprising to hear that my best friend Allee has been hit by a car and was in hospital. The other day when he was going to cross a street,he was such careful that he didn’t go until he saw the traffic light to turn green. But hardly had he got to the middle of the street while he saw a car suddenly appear on his right-hand side and come directly towards them. It was too late for Allee to escape. He was hit by the car or was thrown a few meters away. He was sent to the nearest hospital immediately and had operation. When I went to see him, he was out of dangers but still looked pale. I sincere hope he will recover and return to normal as soon as possible.

【題目】Body language is the quietest, most secret and most powerful language of all. It is said that our body movements communicate about 50% of what we really mean while words themselves only do 7%. So while your mouth is closed, just it is your body language that is saying.
When it comes to body language at the office, you may be making some big mistakes that could cause you trouble. The following are some tips on what you should not do when using body language at your office.
Don’t touch your co-workers, even if it’s on the back of the arm or shoulder. Many of your co-workers are not comfortable with any body contact(接觸)with others. Be careful not to touch everyone at your office.
Don’t avoid eye contact. Eyes can speak. Lack of eye contact means cheat, and it can also point to no safety or lack of confidence. Trust and confidence are things you will communicate to the other person if you hold eye contact 50% of the time.
Don’t have a bad handshake. You’re going to show your kindness at once with a firm palm(手掌)to palm handshake. Showing the palms of your hands is an amiable gesture as it shows that you have a peaceful purpose. It means acceptance, and that you’re open to new ideas. Be careful of the dead fish handshake.
Don’t lean(傾斜) your head while listening to others. When listening to others, you should listen to him or her carefully with your head straight. For women especially, you think you are expressing interest by leaning your head when you are listening to others, but you actually come across as if you don’t understand what’s going on.
【1】What can we learn from the first paragraph?
A. The importance of body language.
B. The development of body language.
C. The best way to communicate with others.
D. How to avoid making mistakes at the office.

●Does failure really exist ?
If you believe you have failed, then you have. If you believe you don’t have the ability to succeed, then you don’t. 【1】 The moment you decide to give up or stop working toward your goals, failure is born.
● 【2】
Most people give themselves an out without even realizing it. They are willing to work hard on reaching their goals, but only until the going gets too rough or their energy dies down. Don’t do that! 【3】 Never quit, never admit failure, and never lose heart.
●Don’t believe in a clear finish line for goals.
It’s a good idea to set a general timeline, but remember that something will be beyond your control. 【4】 If you lock yourself into a given timeline, you might make yourself feel like a failure! Instead, get a general idea of when you’d like your goal to be completed. Then take it one day at a time and focus on making progress instead of reaching the finish line in as little time as possible.
●Be sure that you don’t see difficulties as failures.
Difficulties mean only one thing: it’s not time for your goal to be completed yet. That’s it! It doesn’t mean you failed; it doesn’t mean you’re weak; it doesn’t mean you’ll never achieve your goals. 【5】 You’ve got to keep moving forward and find a way over, around, or through the difficulties.
A. Never give up on yourself.
B. Failure only exists in your own mind!
C That’s exactly how failure makes us feel.
D. It simply means you have not done enough yet.
E. You can never say exactly when your goal will be reached.
F. Instead, make up your mind to make your goal happen, no matter what!
G. Work hard towards your goal, and you will be likely to get good results.

Once a man got on a bus for New York. He hid in toilet, because he did not want to pay. But a passenger saw her. She tapped the person in front of her on the shoulder and say, "There's a bum(流浪漢) in the toilet. Tell the bus driver." The message was passing from person to person. But anywhere along the way, it changed. The bus driver was told that there was a bomb in the toilet. He immediate stopped the bus and telephoned the police. When the police came to, they told the passengers to get off the bus or stay far away. Then they closed the highway. This soon caused a 15-miles-long traffic jam. Under the help of a dog, the police searched for two hours. Of course they found no bomb!
