Today my father and I drove to visit Li Wei, whom we had been supporting for two years. We set off early in the morning, and after a two-hour drive, we arrived in his home.At that moment, he was working in the garden while his grandpa was sitting in the sun. They were excited to see us and gave us warm welcome. We gave Li Wei a schoolbag and some books as well.Grateful and moved, and he showed us his excellent schoolwork, which impressed us greatly. We were so happy that we didn’t realize it was time to leave. They saw me off at the village entrance and we waved goodbye to them.
【答案】
【1】had→ have
【2】in → at
【3】在warm前面加上a
【4】去掉and
【5】me → us
【解析】
【1】had→ have
沒有一個過去的時間或者動作作為對比,故此句用現在完成時即可。
【2】in → at
Arrive in 接大地方,arrive at 接小地方。根據文章的賓語his home(這是個小地方),故用at。
【3】在warm前面加上a
warm welcome一次熱烈的歡迎,需要用冠詞限定。
【4】去掉and
本句中只有一個動詞showed,而前面的moved是非謂語動詞,故不需要用連詞連接句子。
【5】me → us
根據本句后面的內容,可知道主語應該是we。

【題目】When e-mail first came into general use about twenty years ago, there was a lot of talk about the arrival of the paperless office. However, it seems that e-mail has yet to revolutionize office communication. According to communications analyst Richard Metcalf, some offices have actually seen an increase in paper as a result of e-mail. “Information in the form of e-mail messages now floods our computer screens. These messages can be sent so quickly that memos tend to be distributed in the hundreds. For those secretaries whose bosses ask them to print out all their e-mails and leave them in their in-trays, this means using up a great deal of paper every month,” Metcalf says.
Metcalf has found that because some e-mails get lost in cyberspace, important documents are increasingly likely to be asked by clients and colleagues to send all important documents both by e-mail and by fax. This highlights a further potential problem with e-mail in today’s offices ─ it is taking up time rather than saving it. “With e-mail, communication is much easier, but there is also more room for misunderstandings,” says psychologist Dr David Lewis. Generally, much less care is taken with e-mails than with letters or faxes and the sender will probably print the document and reread it before putting it in an envelope or sending it by fax.
More worrying is still the increasing misuse of e-mail for sending “flame-mail” ─inappropriate e-mail messages. Recent research in several companies suggests that aggressive communications like this are on the increase. E-mail has become the perfect medium for conveying workplace dissatisfaction because it is so instant.
E-mail can also be a problem in other ways. Staffs all too often make the mistake of thinking that the contents of the e-mail, like things said over the phone, are private and not permanent. But it is not only possible for an employer to read all your e-mails, it is also perfectly legal. E-mail messages can be traced back to their origin for a period of at least two years, so you might want to rethink e-mailing your dissatisfaction about your boss to your friends. The advice is to keep personal e-mails out of the office.
(Note: Answer the questions or complete the statements in NO MORE THAN 12 WORDS)
【1】The promise of paperless office has not come true in many offices mainly because many secretaries are asked to _____________.
【2】Why has e-mailing taken up time rather than saved it?
【3】There is an increasing concern that e-mails are misused by some employees to express _____________.
【4】It is advised that employees should not use company e-mails as a way of ___________.

【題目】根據短文內容,從短文后的選項中選出能填入空白處的最佳選項。 其中有兩項為多余選項。
Doctors say anger can be an extremely damaging emotion, unless you learn how to deal with it. They warn that anger can lead to heart disease, stomach problems, headaches, emotional problems and possibly cancer.
【1】 Some people express anger openly in a calm reasonable way. Others burst with anger, and scream and yell. Still others keep their anger inside. They can not or will not express it. This is called repressing anger.
For years many doctors thought that repressing anger was more dangerous to a person’s health than expressing it. They said that when a person is angry, the brain releases hormones (荷爾蒙) which speed the heart rate, raise blood pressure, or sugar into the blood, etc. 【2】
Some doctors say that both repressing and expressing anger can be dangerous. They believe that those who express anger violently may be more likely to develop heart disease, and they believe that those who keep anger inside may face a greater danger of high blood pressure.
__【3】__ They say the first step is to admit that you are angry and to recognize the real cause of the anger, then decide if the cause is serious enough to get angry about. If it is, they say, “【4】 Wait until your anger has cooled down and you are able to express yourself calmly and reasonably.”
Doctors say that a good way to deal with anger is to find humor in the situation that has made you angry. 【5】
A. In general the person feels excited and ready to act.
B. They said that laughter is much healthier than anger.
C. Expressing anger violently is more harmful than repressing it.
D. Anger may cause you a cancer.

【題目】About five years ago, an American electrical engineer named Scott Brusaw and his wife Julie came up with the idea of putting solar panels (控制板) on the ground rather than the roof. Then they began to develop the Solar Roadway. The Solar Roadway is an intelligent road that provides clean renewable energy using power from the sun while providing safer driving conditions, along with power and data delivery. They predict that the Solar Roadway will pay for itself through the generation of electricity along with other forms of income and that the same money that is being used to build and resurface current roads can be used to build the Solar Roadways.
Each Solar Road Panel measures roughly 4 meters by 4 meters and contains a microprocessor (微處理器) that monitors and controls the panel, while communicating with neighboring panels and the vehicles traveling overhead. The inventors suggest that this provides a communications device every 4 meters on every road which could be used for example to warn drivers of cars which are moving across a centre line and various other speed control problems. The top of the Solar Road panels is made of super-strong glass that would offer vehicles the tractions (抓地力)____need.
According to the inventors, the Solar Roadway creates and carries clean renewable electricity and therefore electric vehicles can be recharged at any conveniently located rest stop, or at any business that has paved Solar Road Panels in their parking lots.
The inventors say their Solar Roadway has many functions and advantages from main roads to driveways, parking lots, bike paths, sidewalks and runways. The Federal Highway Administration has given Brusaw $100,000 to develop the invention and Brusaw hopes to build a smart-road parking lot in the coming spring .

【2】The underlined word “they” in Paragraph 2 refers to .

B. $100,000 is only enough to build a smart-road parking lot
C. the Solar Roadway is not available for gas-powered cars
D. future electric vehicles can be charged anytime and anywhere
【4】What can be the best title for the text?
A. Solar-powered smart road of the future
B. The great changes on the roadway
C. The influence the Solar Roadway has on people

【題目】 It’s great fun to explore new places—it feels like an adventure, even when you know you’re not the first to have been there. But make sure not to get lost or waste time going round in circles.
● Do the map reading if you’re being driven somewhere. It’ll be easier if you keep turning the map so it follows the direction you’re traveling in. Keep looking ahead so that you can give the driver lots of warning before having to make a turn or you’ll have to move to the back seat.
● Get a group of friends together and go exploring. You'll need a good map, a compass , a raincoat, a cell phone to call for help in case you get lost, and a bit of spare cash for emergencies . Tell someone where you’re going before you set out and let them know what time you expect to be back. The test is in not getting lost, not in seeing how fast you can go, so always stick together, waiting for slower friends to catch up.
● See if your school or a club organizes orienteering activities, in which you need a map and a compass to find your way. This can be done as a sport, with teams trying to find the way from A to B (and B to C, etc.)in the fastest time, or simply as a spare-time activity. Either way, its not only good fun, but a great way to keep fit.

B. direct the driver when necessary

A. To be saved in case of an accident.
