1.考查there be的句型。They are three lessons in the morning and two in the afternoon. 所以They應(yīng)改為There。 故把They改為There。

We didn’t need to do so many homework.

名詞homework是不可數(shù)名詞,不能與表示可數(shù)的詞如many, few, a number of, a good many等連用。所以應(yīng)將many改為much。

4. we have more time with after-school activities. We have time for sth. 故把with改為for。

5. example, we can do reading for one and a half hour and play sports for one hour every day.

6. dream school look like a big garden.

7. are all kinds of the flowers and trees around the classroom buildings.

8. can lie on the grass for a rest, or sat by the lake listening music.

9.

10. The teachers here are kind and helpfully.

In the United States, 30 percent of the people have a “weight problem”. To many people, the cause is obvious: they eat too much. But scientific evidence (證據(jù)) does little to support this idea. Going back to America of 1910, we find that people were thinner than today, yet they ate more food. In those days people worked harder physically, walked more, used machines much less, and didn’t watch television.

Several modern studies, moreover, have shown that fatter people don’t eat more on average than thinner people. A 1979 study of 3,545 London office workers showed that fat people eat less than slim (苗條的) people.

Studies also show that slim people are more active than fat people. A study by a research group at Stanford University found the following interesting facts:

The more the man ran, the greater loss of the body fat.

The more they ran, the greater increase in food intake.

Thus, those who ran the most ate the most, yet lost the greatest amount of body fat.

1.Nowadays many Americans have the problem that ______.

A.they lose too much body fat B.they work too hard

C.they are too fat D.they are too slim

2.According to the passage, how many people in 900 Americans have a “weight problem”?

A.150. B.300. C.600. D. 270.

3.Is there any scientific evidence to support the idea that eating too much is the cause of a “weight problem”?

A.We are not sure.

B.Of course, there is some evidence to support this.

C.There is hardly any scientific evidence to support this.

D.Yes, there is plenty of evidence.

4.The Americans in 1910 ________.

A.had more problems

B.a(chǎn)te less food but had more physical activities

C.a(chǎn)te less food and had less physical activities

D.a(chǎn)te more food and had more physical activies

A 400-pound adult male gorilla (大猩猩) escaped from his cage at the Buffalo Zoo on Monday. He bit a female zookeeper before being caught. The 24-year-old gorilla came out of his living quarters through an unlocked door on Monday morning. He ran into the space which was used by zoo workers but closed to the public.

A keeper who has cared for Koga since he arrived in 2007 was bitten on her hand and leg. Zoo officials said it was an act of excitement. “He was probably just as surprised coming face to face with her as she was with him,” Buffalo Zoo President Donna Fernandes said.

The keeper took refuge (庇護) inside the habitat of a female gorilla and her newborn baby. The keeper’s decision to lock herself inside the separate habitat likely kept her from being further harmed. The keeper had a good relationship with the mother who, like Koga, is a west lowland gorilla, native to West Africa and the Congo River Basin, according to Fernandes.

Several locked doors prevented Koga from running wildly through the zoo and beyond. The police sent in a team to make sure the area was safe while a vet (獸醫(yī)) used a pipe to sedate (給…… Koga. The gorilla was dragged by the zoo staff back to his cage once the drugs took hold.

Visitors to the zoo were moved indoors and stayed there for about 45 minutes while the team was trying to catch the gorilla and send it back to his cage. “That was the scariest thing I’ve ever done in my career,” said the team’s captain Mark Maraschiello. “It’s a 400-pound gorilla. Nobody knew what harm he could do to us. He could have bitten my arm off easily,” Maraschiello added.

1.What is the main idea of this passage?

A. A zoo keeper was injured while working at the zoo.

B. A zoo keeper forgot to lock the door of a gorilla’s cage.

C. A 400-pound gorilla ran wildly in the zoo after breaking his cage.

D. A 400-pound gorilla bit a zoo keeper after escaping from his cage.

2.According to Donna Fernandes, the gorilla bit the zoo keeper because .

A. he was too angry to see the zoo keeper

B. he was too excited to see the zoo keeper

C. he didn’t want to be sent back to the cage

D. he wanted to find some delicious food

3.What did the zoo keeper do after being bitten by the gorilla?

A. She asked another gorilla to protect her.

B. She tried her best to comfort him.

C. She locked herself in a cage of another gorilla.

D. She called the police and asked them to rescue her.

4.According to the last paragraph, how did Mark Maraschiello feel when he was trying to catch the gorilla?

A. Excited. B. Calm.

C. Angry. D. Frightened.
