W: You mean I should keep these useless things at home?

M: I’m not saying that. But do you know that every year a lot of useless computers and cellphones pollute the soil?

Most visitors come to the UK expecting the rain and weather for which the country is famous. However, when summer finally arrives, British people like nothing more than heading for the coast. Here are some of more famous places of interest that you could expect to visit on a trip to Britain. Black pool, in the northwest of England, is the most visited place in the UK. Each year around 6.5 to 7 million people come to enjoy the miles of sandy beaches, the 158m Black pool Tower and the 11km-long Golden Mile, where there are entertainments, pubs, ice rinks (溜冰場) and even a zoo. On the south coast of the country you can find Brighton. Until 1786, Brighton was a sleepy village. Then the future king, George IV, decided to build a house there, and now it has become a large, international centre. Apart from the beaches, Brighton is famous for its pier (碼頭). There are theatres, entertainments and restaurants there. Brighton is also fantastic for shopping. If you want to travel a little further, why not go to Cornwall in the far southwest of the UK? South Cornwall offers miles of sandy beaches and beautiful scenery. The climate there is warmer than the rest of Britain, and you can even find palm trees. For a bit more excitement, go to North Cornwall. The scenery there is nicer, and the beaches are famous for their powerful waves. As a result, North Cornwall has become the home of British surfing. One word of warning though, if you are using the roads in the UK during holidays, you can expect long traffic jams on the motorways. It might be better to take the train.

For two weeks in July, millions gather in Boryeong to experience the grey pools and slides. The mud is usually only available in cosmetic products (化妝品), but here you can cake yourself in grey as you want.

【題目】Super Bowl Weekend has just ended, and I was very excited for the big game. But I’m not just a fan of the game: I’m a 13-year-old and offensive guard. I just finished playing my eighth and final season.

During the last two years, they’ve created Title IX regulations that forbid girls from playing contact sports due to safely and “touching” concerns. They claim to be acting in the best interests of young people.

During the 2015 season, the Archdiocese(大主教轄區(qū)) announced that it would be my last season because of a rule that girls were not permitted to play football in the league. Right away, I knew I needed to change this rule for not just myself, but for all girls.

So I started a change.org petition(請愿書) that received more than 108,000 signatures!I told my story on national news networks and shows. And in March 2016, the Archbishop changed the rule to make CYO football coed(男女混合的) in Philadelphia.

But in July 2016, the bishops(主教) changed their decision and made football once again for boys only. They let me in for my eighth-grade season, but shut down the opportunity of any other girl to play. I could have walked away, but I knew that I had to stay and fight this rule again for girls who want to play football. I started another petition. No girl should be banned from a game she loves.

I hope that you join me in my effort to call on the bishops of Pennsylvania to permit young people like me to learn and grow together, not separately. You can sign my petition at change.org/girl in football.

D. Because she learned a lot about Title IX regulations.

3What is the real purpose of writing the text?

B. To express her passion for football.

C. To introduce her change.org petition.

D. To appeal to people to join her in the fight.

4Where can others sign their names?

A. On the website. B. In the league.

C. On the papers. D. In the letters.
