Respect your teachers.
First of all, students should respect the teachers. They should pay attention in the classes. That means to salute him,to stand from his chair when the teacher enters the classroom etc.Attend any lesson attentively. In class of a certain subject or teacher you don’t like very much,if it’s total anarchy, how can we talk about respect?
Play by the rules.
If your teacher wants you to use wide-lined paper--do it ! If she tells you to sharpen your pencils only before class starts, listen to her.If she doesn’t accept late homework,do yours on time.Sometimes classroom rules seem strict or even silly, but most teachers know what’s necessary to make things run smoothly, what it takes to let the learning begin. And the better the learning environment, the smarter you’ll be!
Expect her/him to like you.
Teachers are teachers because they like kids.Given the chance, most teachers want to be your friends too.Respect your teacher, but don’t be afraid of her/him.She/He wants you to have a great school year just as much as you want to have!
Put first things first.
Friends are a fun part of school. But they’re not the most important part. When your teacher is teaching, give her/him your full attention.Even when it's hard to do.— recess_ will come soon enough, and that’s the time for playing with your friends.

When you are talking to somebody at a party, do you focus entirely on the person you are speaking with or does your attention keep jumping around the room to all the other people there? General1y, if the person is someone you really want to talk to, you will focus on him. Most other people will only get about half of your attention.
You may think that this is OK, because if you don’t really want to talk to him, then what does it matter if you don’t give him your full attention? Consider two things. First, you may just not realize the importance of that conversation. If you are at a networking meeting and you hope to meet the CEO of Company X, but you end up talking to someone who has a low-level job at a different company, then you may let your attention wander(走神)as you speak to him. But maybe you don’t realize that this person has already met the CEO and could introduce you. Do you think he will do that if he feels you don’t really care about speaking to him? This doesn’t mean you need to spend the whole time talking to him. Five or ten minutes of real attentive(專心的)conversation can be worth 30 minutes to an hour of partial attention.
Second, whether you want to speak to someone is based on the situation. You can love your wife, but if she tries to talk to you while you are watching something you like on TV, where is your attention going? Make your own decision, but if you want her to feel valued, give her your 100% attention. The nice thing is that in many cases you can give her your attention for a few minutes and then return to what you were doing. You miss very little, she feels valued, and all is good.

科目:高中英語 來源:2015屆安徽省六安市高一上學(xué)期期中考試英語試卷(解析版) 題型:閱讀理解

As a teen, you’re going through big changes physically and mentally. Your interests are expanding. And your desire to take control of your own life is growing.

Here is the challenge: Kids need to explore the world in new ways, and parents need to protect them from the dangers that are out in that world. These conflicts can easily set off fireworks in otherwise calm houses. Sometimes conflicts can’t be avoided. But by paying attention to the building blocks of successful relationships, you can work towards making home a happy and healthy place for you and your parents.

For instance, try to find a time to talk when your parents are not angry, tired, distracted, or hungry. A good time to talk is when you’re all relaxed . Timing is everything. If the conversation begins to turn into an argument, you’d better calmly and coolly ask to stop the conversation for now. You can pick it up again when everyone’s more relaxed. Listen to what your parents are saying, and repeat it back to them. This shows them that you’re listening. It also gives them a chance to clear things up if you’re not on the same page.

Respect is the building block of good communication. People who respect each other and care about each others’ feelings can disagree without things getting ugly.

You are more likely to get along with your parents and have more independence(獨立) if your parents believe in you. How do you build trust? Trust comes by actually doing what you say you’re going to do. Some teens find that doing fun activities with their parents can improve their relationships. Sometimes we forget that parents are more than rule-makers---they’re interesting people who like to watch movies, and go shopping ---just like their teenagers!

What do you do if you are trying your best, but your relationship with your parents continues to be rocky(冷酷的)? You may consider seeking outside help. You can find supportive adults, such as a teacher or a coach, who can lend an ear.

Remember you can only change your own behavior; your parents are the only ones who can change theirs.

1.What does the underlined part “l(fā)end an ear” in the passage mean?

A.care about        B.listen             C.solve             D.serve

2.What’s NOT the proper way to improve relationship between you and your parents?

A.Listen to your parents.                   B.Work for your family.

C.Build their trust.                        D.Change your parents’ behaviors.

3.Why are there conflicts between children and parents?

A.Parents are sometimes rule makers.

B.Children don’t respect their parents as before.

C.Children don’t want to stay together with their parents.

D.Children are grown up.

4.What’s the best title of the passage?

A.Change Your Own Behaviors.               B.Learn to Respect Your Parents.

C.Make Peace with Your Parents             D.Accept What Your Parents Say.
