Here are some tips that will help you get rid of anxiety over being phoneless or reduce your risk of phone addiction.
Disable the Internet connection. Take up your courage to disable the Internet connection on your smartphone. Needless to say, you will save o lot of cash on it.
Find your passion. Find your dream job and you will leave your “best friend” at least for a while. If you have nothing to do at home, try a new hobby that will distract you from all those apps and social media.
Purchase an ordinary phone. No smartphones. No iphones. Remember those times when we used phones in emergency situations only or when we wanted to invite someone to a party.
Don't let the fear control you. Claim your joy. I can only speak for myself here, but I think that a smartphone is one of the worst inventions. It's useful and helpful at times, but it has ruined many happy lives and relationships. That's because we allow our phones to control us.
The fear of being phoneless is a serious problem. It's like drug or cigarette addiction. If you want to change your life, sell your expensive smartphone, buy an ordinary one, and become a sociable person. There are so many wonderful people that can bring joy into our life. Chatting online is great, but chatting in real life is best.
A. Free your mind.
B. Choose other electronic devices.
C. Keep your mind sharp and alert.
D. Beat your social butterfly wings.
E. Those who love their jobs never feel exhausted and bored.
F. Thus, you'll spend less time with your phone and more time in real life.
G. I bet some of you remember times when few people had a phone at home.

【題目】根據(jù)短文理解,選擇正確答案。
The life expectancy is the length of time that a person is normally likely to live. As it increases nowadays, the average person lives beyond the age of retirement. As a result, the elderly make up an ever-increasing percentage of society, which makes it more important to make effort to improve the lives of senior citizens.
First of all, one way would be to make sure that the elderly have enough money on which to live. Obviously, when a person stops working, they still require a source of income to cover their basic needs such as food, accommodation and heating. A clear solution to the problem is for the government to make sure that the state pension(養(yǎng)老金) is enough for these needs.
Measures should also be taken to overcome the health problems the elderly face. The government should also provide access to the best health care available, which may necessitate paying for residential homes where the elderly can have round-the-clock nursing, or, at least, providing medication free of charge to all people over a certain age.
If we try to address the problem of social isolation (社交孤立), the lives of old people could be improved. If we organize trips for the elderly to community centers, visits from social workers, their problem of loneliness can be reduced a lot which marks the lives of so many old people living alone and far from their families.
The last helpful suggestion is to change the attitude of the community towards its older members, who are all too often seen as a burden on society. We need to be taught from an early age to respect the views of old people, and appreciate their broader experience of life. This would help society as a whole, and encourage appreciation of the role that old people can still play today.
(1)What does underlined word “it” in Paragraph 1 refer to?
A.time
B.retirement
C.life expectancy
D.age
(2)What factors affected the old people's life?
a. the state pension
b. the basic needs
c. the attitude of the community
d. the experience of life
e. social isolation
f. medical care
A.b, c, d, e
B.a, b, c, d
C.a, c, e, f
D.c, d, e, f
(3)According to the last suggestion, the old people ___________.
A.should be respected by all of us
B.may be regarded as our heavy burden
C.must change their attitude to the community
D.have to gather more life experience

【題目】根據(jù)短文理解,選擇正確答案。
Hundreds of years ago, news was carried from place to place by people on foot or by horse. It took days, weeks and sometimes months for people to receive news. Now it is possible to send words and pictures around the world in seconds. Billions of people learn about news stories of their own country and all over the world every day, either by watching TV or reading newspapers.
Newspapers have been an important part of everyday life since the 18th century. Many countries have hundreds of different newspapers. How do newspaper editors decide which news stories to print? Why do they print some stories and not others? What makes a good newspaper story?
Firstly, it is important to report new stories. TV stations can report news much faster than newspapers. Yet, newspapers give more about the same story. They may also look at the story in another way, or they may print completely different stories to those on TV.
Secondly, a news story has to be interesting and unusual. People don't want to read stories about everyday life as a result, many stories are about some kind of danger and seem to be "bad" news. For example, newspapers never print stories about planes landing safely, instead they print stories about plane accidents.
Another factor (因素) is also very important in many news stories. Many people are interested in news in foreign countries, but more prefer to read stories about people, places and events in their own country. So the stories on the front page in Chinese newspapers are usually very different from the ones in British, French and American newspapers.
(1)According to the passage, how do people learn about news stories in the world now?
A.They carry news stories and tell others from place to place on foot or by horse.
B.They tell each other what they have seen with their eyes.
C.They watch TV or read newspapers.
D.They listen to the radio every day.
(2)The difference between newspaper stories and TV news reports is that _____ .
A.people can learn more about the same news story from a newspaper
B.people can read the news story more quickly in a newspaper
C.people can read news stories in other countries
D.people can read news stories about their own country
(3)To make a good newspaper story, how many factors does the passage talk about?
A.Two.
B.Three.
C.Five.
D.Six.
(4)According to the passage, which of the following can you most possibly watch on TV?
A.You often play football with your friends after school.
B.Your teacher has got a cold.
C.A tiger in the city zoo has run out and hasn't been caught.
D.The bike in the front of your house is lost.

The other day when he was going to cross a street, he was such careful that he didn't go until he saw the traffic light to turn green. But hardly had he got to the middle of the street while he saw a car suddenly appear on his right-hand side and come directly towards them. It was too late for Allee to escape. He was hit by the car or was thrown a few meters away. He was sent to the nearest hospital immediately and had operation. When I went to see him, he was out of dangers but still looked pale. I sincere hope he will recover and return to normal as soon as possible.

【題目】閱讀理解
A new concept vehicle, Pod was introduced by Toyota and Sony at the Tokyo motor show. The car is intended as a four-wheeled friend. It aims to provide affection, sympathy and encouragement. Like a dog welcoming its master, the car sits up, wags its tail and acknowledges its owner's presence using hydraulics(液壓裝置) and a multi-colored LED display panel(引擎) across the front.
While on the road, the car constantly monitors the driver's mood with pulse and sweat sensors on the joystick(操縱桿). Cameras focused on the eyes keep watch for any sigh of drowsiness. If a driver appears to be losing his or her cool, Pod will display warnings, play soft music and blow cold air at the face. Drivers are shaken awake with loud music and a shaking chair.
To improve driving skills, pod compares acceleration, braking and steering with the best performance recorded by professionals. It uses this comparison to score drivers, offer advice and rank all Pod owners. Toyota claims that the car will eventually be able to learn its owner's likes and dislikes by monitoring passenger conversations. If the car hears a favorite song being discussed, it will download the track from the Internet and play it without being asked. It will also recommend restaurants that might suit the driver's taste and take photographs of passengers when they sound particularly happy.
In keep with the moodiness that is the car's main selling point, Pod expresses a form of road anger. If a driver brakes or swerves(轉(zhuǎn)向) suddenly, the LED panel shows an angry red and the tail rises at the back.
Anger is one of the car's ten “emotional states”. Another is sadness — a blue front with tear-shaped lights seemingly dropping from headlights — which appears after a flat tire or when gas is low.
“We wanted to show that the cars can be cheerful and entertaining,” said Yasunori Sakamoto, part of the Toyota design team. Mr Sakamoto said Toyota has no plans to put Pod on the market. Sad, really.
