【答案】
The teachers and students in our school are very pleased to know the news that from the year 2017 on, all the senior high school students can take NMET twice a year. The students are particularly excited about the more reasonable and scientific measure, for they have more opportunities to get a better grade in English for their college entrance examination, thus their dreams of entering an ideal university are drawing near. They will face less pressure and become more confident. They can also have more free time to develop their hobbies and interests. Meanwhile, they doubt whether the exams can be highly organized, because having such an exam twice a year is anyhow a big challenge to organizers.

Today I’m going to talk about something about e-hongbao, that is becoming popular in China. E-hongbao is actual a kind of lucky money from and to relatives and friends during festivals or on some special occasion. For many young people, grabbing e-hongbao on their mobile phones is a fairly common and exciting activity. Unlike the tradition of elders give lucky money to their children, over half of the people sending e-hongbao is in their 20s. It’s just for fun, and the sum of money mattered little. In word, e-hongbao is bringing new color to the old tradition. Nevertheless, I’m interested with the safety of online payment. It’s hoped that whether rules and regulations should be improved about the e-hongbao system to guarantee their operation.

【題目】One afternoon last week, I saw three tearful children from my son’s school being comforted by teachers. That morning, my 11-year-old had stomach pains, retching(干嘔)into a bowl. Talking to other mothers later, I heard about other children with stomachache or difficulty sleeping the night before.
What caused so much pain? Sports day. Sports day might be necessary at a highly-competitive independent school, but not at a village primary school. For the children who can fly like the wind, sports day causes no problem. For those who are overweight or just not good at sport, it is a nightmare(噩夢(mèng)). Even for those who enjoy running but fall halfway down the track in front of the entire school and their parents, it can prove a disaster.
Why do we put our children through this annual suffering? Some may say competition is character building; or it’s taking part, not winning, that’s important; or that it is a tradition of school life. I just felt great pity for those children in tears or in pain.
Team games at the end of sports day produced some close races, wild enthusiasm, lots of shouting—and were fun to watch. More importantly, the children who were not so fast or quick at passing the ball were hidden a little from everyone’s eyes. Some of them also had the thrill of being on the winning side.
I wish that sports day could be abandoned and replaced with some other less-competitive event. Perhaps an afternoon of team games, with a few races for those who want them, would be less stressful for the children and a lot more fun to watch.
【1】What can we learn about the author’s son from Paragraph 1?
A. He talked with some mothers.
B. He comforted his classmates.

【2】Sports day is still an annual event in this school probably because .
A. this is an independent school
B. it is a tradition of the school
C. it helps children lose weight
D. children enjoy watching sports
【3】What does the author think about team games?
A. They should include more stressful races.
B. They are acceptable to different children.
C. They should be abandoned at primary schools.
D. They are less fun for those who love running.
【4】What is the author’s attitude towards sports day?
A. Critical. B. Neutral. C. Positive. D. Ambiguous.

【題目】閱讀填空
Food makes us feel good, but some people eat when they aren’t really hungry and eat to simply feel good. This kind of eating habit is called emotional eating, which does not affect adults but also young children. It isn’t a good thing.
A child’s eating habits can develop right from childhood. As we know, a baby cries out if he doesn’t get milk at the usual time of the day. However, sometimes parents immediately stick a bottle in a child’s mouth without trying to find out if the child is really hungry. In fact, children may cry for other reasons. Even as children grow up and start going to school, parents sometimes give them a chocolate bar if they become really unhappy. As the children further grow up, they may become used to having a snack whenever they’re upset or low.
Therefore, they’d like to eat an emotional snack when they have the feeling of unhappiness and boredom. Even when they don’t get high grades, aren’t popular at school or made fun of by others, they will want something to eat. After having the snack, they feel a lot better.
Emotional eating in young children is a thing that needs to be taken seriously. To protect your children from emotional eating, you should satisfy your child’s emotional needs in the best possible way. This includes spending time with your child every day, taking an interest in his school work, helping your child study, providing a health environment without tension at home, etc. Don’t make the child lose face by scolding him. Develop confidence in your child. Make your child eat enough once in a while. Reward him for his achievements.
All this will help your little one develop a healthy eating habit. And always remember love and care is the key to help you child out of trouble and grow up happily.
