【答案】One possible version

Dear Jack,

Glad to hear from you. Now I’d like to tell you something about the environment of our city. Compared with the past few years, the environment of this city is getting worse. For example, the air is not as fresh as before. Rivers are so dirty that we often see dead fish floating on the surface of the water.

I feel ashamed of myself for having done many things that harm the environment. I have been asking my father to drive me to and from school, producing much carbon dioxide. Besides, I often litter on the sidewalks. From now on, I will change my lifestyle and take action to protect the environment. I will no longer use one-off things and replace plastic bags with paper bags. I will put empty cans, bottles and waste paper into dustbin in order that they can be recycled. When going out, I will ride a bike or choose public transportation.

Only by changing the way we treat the environment can we get along well with it. Only by saving the environment can we save ourselves.

Best wishes.

Yours,

Li Hua

Compared with the past few years,同級(jí)比較not as fresh as before. so…that句型現(xiàn)在分詞producing much carbon dioxide.倒裝句Only by changing the way we treat the environment can we get along well with it. Only by saving the environment can we save ourselves.詞語(yǔ)feel ashamed of, From now on, get along well with。
