【題目】閱讀理解。
閱讀下列短文,從每題所給的四個選項(A、B、C和D)中,選出最佳選項。
A
When many of us take a vacation, more than anything, we seek to relax. We spend long, lazy days on a beach chair. But too often, we return home, very tired.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Come home refreshed after an active trip! And you won’t be too tired!
Active vacations are often the most relaxing ones of all. We don’t expect you to take up running. Rather, we ask the sedentary (久坐不動的) vacationers to spend two to four hours a day doing things, such as walking in city streets, going to a zoo or biking beside the ocean.
These kinds of activities aren’t just good for your physical health. They improve your mental (精神的) health as well. And they make vacations memorable and worthwhile.
Here are some fresh ideas to make your vacations as pleasurable as they are active and healthy.
◆A walk at dawn or dusk can make you feel or look young again. Try to make this a daily thing that is done regularly.
◆Don’t allow yourself to spend all your time sitting in front of the water.
◆Many of us spend a large part of our vacations on the road, either getting to and from our destinations (目的地), or using the car for sightseeing. But no matter how beautiful the scenery is, great memorable vacations don’t happen in a car seat.
【1】What is the purpose of the passage?
A. To show us how to make our
B. To tell us where we should go for our vacations.
C. To explain to us why vacations can sometimes be boring.
D. To introduce the relation between vacations and health.
【2】 What does the underlined word “refreshed” in Paragraph 2 mean?
A. In low spirits. B. Pleasant or cool.
C. Feeling energetic. D. Feeling regretful.
【3】 In the last paragraph, the author seems to advise us ________.
A. to go on vacation by car
B. to get out of the car for sightseeing
C. not to spend too much time on the road
D. to go camping to get close to the nature
【答案】
【1】A
【2】C
【3】B

Have you ever picked a job based on the fact that you were good at it but later found it made you feel very uncomfortable over time?__________________________________________________________________. If you ignore your personality, it will get you a long-term hurt regardless of your skills or the job’s pay. There are several areas of your personality that you need to consider to help you find a good job. Here are a few of those main areas:
1) Do you prefer working alone or with other people?
There are isolating(孤立的)jobs that will drive an outgoing person crazy and also interactive jobs that will make a shy person uneasy. Most people are not extremes in either direction but do have a tendency that they prefer. There are also positions that are sometimes a combination of the two, which may be best for someone in the middle who adapts easily to either situation.
2) How do you handle change?
Most jobs these days have some elements of change to them, but some are more than others. If you need stability in your life, you may need a job where the changes don’t happen so often. Other people would be bored of the same daily routine.
3) Do you enjoy working with computers?
I do see this as a kind of personality characteristic. There are people who are happy to spend more than 40 hours a week on a computer, while there are others who need a lot of human interaction throughout the day. Again, these are extremes and you’ll likely find a lot of positions somewhere in the middle as well.
4) What type of work environment do you enjoy?
This can range from being in a large building with a lot of people you won’t know immediately to a smaller setting where you’ll get to know almost all the people there fairly quickly.
5) How do you like to get paid?
Some people are motivated by the pay they get, while others feel too stressed to be like that. The variety of payment designs in the sales industry is a typical example for this.
Anyway, these are a great starting point for you. I’ve seen it over and over again with people that they make more money over time when they do something they love. It may take you a little longer, but making a move to do what you have a passion for can change the course of your life for the better.
【1】What does the underlined sentence in Paragraph 1 mean?
A. You may ignore your skills when you select job.
B. Job skills are the most important things when you select job.
C. There are more important things than job skills when you select job.
D. Selecting job, you should assess your skills and match them with the position.
【2】Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A. Isolating jobs usually drive people mad.
B. Interactive jobs make people shy easily.
C. Extreme people tend to work with others.
D. Almost everyone has a tendency in jobs.
【3】What is the missing word about a job search in the following chart?
A. Design B. Changes C. Cooperation D. Hobbies
【4】What is the best title for this passage?
A. Lifestyles and Job Pay B. Jobs and Environment
C. Job Skills and Abilities D. Personalities and Jobs

【題目】閱讀理解
閱讀下列短文,從每題所給的四個選項(A、B、C和D)中,選出最佳選項。
On November 18, 1995, Itzhak Perlman, the famous musician, came on stage to give a concert. If you have ever been to a Perlman concert, you know that getting on stage is no small achievement (成就) for him. He suffered from a disease as a child, and so he walks with the help of two walking sticks.
The audience (觀眾) sat quietly while he makes his way across the stage to his chair and begins his play. But this time, something went wrong. Just as he finished the first few bars, one of the strings (弦) on his violin broke. We thought that he would have to stop the concert. But he didn’t. Instead, he waited a moment, closed his eyes and then signaled the team to begin again.
Of course, anyone knows that it is impossible to play a pleasant work with just three strings. I know that, and you know that, but that night Itzhak Perlman refused to know that.
When he finished, there was a breathtaking silence in the room. And then people rose and cheered. He smiled and said—not proudly, but in a quiet attitude—“You know, sometimes it is the artist’s task to find out how much music you can still make with what you have left.”
This powerful line has stayed in my mind ever since I heard it. And who knows? Perhaps that is the meaning of life—not just for artists but for all of us.
So, perhaps our task in this fast changing, puzzling world in which we live is to make music, at first with all that we have, and then, when that is no longer possible, to make music with what we have left.
【1】What made Itzhak Perlman’s performance at the concert special on November 18, 1995?
A. He just recovered from a serious illness.
B. He was late for the stage.
C. He had a quarrel with the audience.
D. His string of violin got broken.
【2】 Why didn’t Itzhak Perlman accept the fact on the stage?
A. He was a person of pride.
B. He thought the audience didn’t see that.
C. He decided to succeed with bad conditions.
D. He didn’t see the string get broken at all.
【3】 Why did the audience stand up after the performance?
A. They were moved by his spirit.
B. They were moved by his disease.
C. They laughed at his action.
D. They wanted to relax.
【4】 What is the best title for the passage?
A. When you lose the most important thing
B. How can you give it up easily?
C. Playing a violin with three strings
D. Playing a violin to yourself

One year ago, I had a special English lesson hold at the railway station. It was quite different from the regular English classes we were familiar to, for we had no textbooks, no blackboard and no fixed seats.
Gathered at the entrance of the station, we told to collect as much English words and sentence as possible there. Curious and excited, we walked around the station and looked everywhere, search for any information in English. Whenever an English word comes into sight, the class would burst into the cheers as if we had discovered a new world. With the Chinese translation and vividly pictures, we could figure out its meaning with ease.
Now, this unforgettable lesson still encourages me to be an active learner where I go.

Our government is trying hard to build an energy-saving society. It is somebody’s duty to work hard and reach this goal. However, not everybody has realized the important of it. Take our school for example. Sometime we can see that lights and computers are still on after class. Some students even forget to turn off the tap after using it and have water running all the time. Our papers are primed on only one side, caused much waste. It’s time we did something to avoid this kind of waste. Firstly, make sure that all the light and other electric facilities turned off when we leave the rooms. Try to forming the habit of turning off the tap immediate after using it What’s more, papers should not be printed on both sides and reused if possible. In a word, if everybody reduce the waste and takes action, we can contribute to our society.
