【答案】
Conflicts with others are common in everyday life when we come to a new class in Senior 2. During the basketball game yesterday afternoon, Su Hua and Li Jiang were both trying to catch the ball when they bumped into each other. Then they started shouting and yelling, and it turned into a horrible quarrel.
To be honest, it was Su’s fault but Li was also to blame—they were not calm enough and both said some really mean things. They cared too much about winning and losing. As a matter of fact, blocking, pushing and bumping are just part of a tough game.
To avoid such conflicts, being kind to one another is essential to enjoying a harmonious life. It is also a virtue to forgive and forget, especially in such a competitive and stressful society. Instead of blaming each other, we should communicate more and put ourselves in others’ place.
Don’t be self-centered and try to be considerate. We must learn to handle conflicts calmly and wisely.

Optimism is a concept closely related to happiness. It is about not giving up when the going gets tough. Yet when the going is good, having optimism means you expect the good continue. It is about having hope and always believing that things will improve. Being an optimist puts you in a good position to deal with situations and difficulties in life.
Generally Speaking
Optimists believe bad things are temporary. Bad things occur sometimes but do not last. For example, your boss shouting at you on a Monday does not mean he or she will shout at your for the rest of your working life. An optimist has an awareness that bad things do occur in life, but that they will be able to get up again.
Bad events are not your fault. For example, the terrible weather conditions made it hart to win the game. It is easy to criticize yourself unfairly for such a thing. Yet, constant self-criticism can damage your self-esteem. If you are able to look for other reasons for problems, you tend to like yourself better. Of course, you also have to be responsible for your actions.
Optimists confine bad events to one particular situation. For example, just because you forgot a birthday, it does not mean that you will forget about it all your life. You just happened to forget that. Optimists don’t over-dramatise(夸張)a situation.
How is optimism beneficial?
Physical Health
There are good health reasons to be optimistic. Research indicates that optimists have stronger immune systems, making them less at risk of illness. They are less likely to die of a heart attack. Other research indicates that an optimistic attitude means you can recover faster from an operation. Optimists have less stress, which prevents many stress-related health problems, and it is also suggested that they live longer.
Mental Health
Optimism can be a great confidence booster(支持者), since it can give you a feeling of control in your life. It can enhance your overall well-being. Research indicates that optimists suffer from less depression. Optimism can prevent you feeling helpless, which is an important cause of depression. Optimists have been shown to be more successful in all areas of life, including work, sports and relationships.

There are various reasons why people write poetry. Some poems tell a story and describe something in a way that will give the reader a strong impression. Others try to convey certain emotion. Poets use different forms of poetry to express them. The nursery rhymes may not make sense of and even seem contradictory. List poems have a flexible line length and repeating phrases what give both a pattern and a rhythm to the poem. The cinquain and haiku can give clear picture use the minimum of words. English speakers also enjoy some forms of Asian poetry--Tang poems from China in particularly. With so many different forms of poetry to choose, students may eventually want to write poems of their own.

【題目】
One night in March 1999, a man was driving from California to Oregon, US, to visit some friends. He had stopped his car to have some food when he started to hear strange noises. Turning on the headlights, he saw an 8-foot-tall creature covered in thick, dark hair. The creature stared at him for a minute, turned in the road and walked off slowly into the woods.
In the past 50 years alone, there have been thousands of reported sightings of similar creatures in the US, Canada, the Himalayas(喜馬拉雅山地區(qū))and even Hubei Province in China. The creature is known as bigfoot.
Bigfoot is said to be a very tall(between 2 and 4. 5 metres), ape-like(類人猿似的)creature that is covered in hair and walks upright on two legs. It is very wary(警惕的)of human beings.
Believers think bigfoot is a direct descendent(后代)of ancient gigantopithecus(巨猿). But it remains one of the planet’s undiscovered secrets. There is a little evidence(證據(jù))to support the believers’ theory: traces of hair, footprints and body prints as well as the reported sightings. Some people have even showed what they say with photos or films of bigfoot.
But so far, no one has found bones or any other definite proof that the giant creature exists.
As a result many people believe the evidence is just part of a big trick.
The footprints are easy to make and they say: all you need to do is to make two large feet out of plaster(石膏), attach them to the bottom of your shoes and walk with big steps. As for the photos and films, they are just people dressed in ape suits.
They also say the sightings are not real, just people making mistakes. For example, bigfoot could be a bear living in the wild that sometimes stands up on its back legs.
