5.Are you a team player?
We hear a lot about team building these days.Team-building gurus are hired by some corporations to lecture us on how to work more effectively with each other.And they organize awaydays(息工日)-a time employees spend together away from their usual workplace.
Here in the UK,employees can take part in activities such as Zombie boot camps where military instructors train you how to fight walking'dead people'.For the brainier office workers amongst us there are crime investigations modelled on popular TV dramas like Sherlock Holmes and CSI.
Stressed-out city workers might have ukulele lessons made available to them.Why is that a good team-building exercise?Ukulele teacher Lorraine Bow says:"The fact that they can play a musical instrument within an hour is quite a fulfilling thing,really.It's not competitive-it's quite easy to do and a bit less intimidating than a guitar…"
Actually,a horse might be a bit more intimidating than an instrument.The animals are used by a company in Abu Dhabi which teaches leadership through horse training.Basically,you have to go in a yard with a horse and persuade it that you're the boss by using body language.
Kelly Eide,co-founder of True Leadership,says:"The horses don't care if your hair is purple,if you're a man or a woman,if you're old or young…It transcends all of those cultural boundaries-age,gender,religion,tradition etc.-so that's a perfect fit.And in an organization where you really need groups of people togel,who come from backgrounds which have no common norms,you can teach that most efficiently with a horse."
And the horse feels instinctively whether or not you are a natural leader.So if after you've done a good presentation your boss offers you a carrot,you'll know where he might have learnt it from.

13.Taktak tabulaba?
You probably don't know how to answer that question---unless you happen to be one of the about 430people in the world who speak a language called Matukar Panau.Then you would know it means"What are we doing?"Matukar Panau is one of the world's rarest languages.It is spoken in just two small coastal villages in Papua New Guinea.
Several years ago,David Harrison,a language expert didn't know much about Matukar Panau either.No one had ever recorded or even studied its words and rules.With so few speakers,the language risked disappearing soon.It was endangered.
Harrison didn't want that to happen to Matukar Panau.So in 2009,he set out for Papua New Guinea.His goal:use modern technology to help the remaining speakers preserve their native tongue.
But Matukar Panau is far from the only language facing loss.Studies suggest that by the end of this century,nearly half of the 7,000languages now spoken worldwide could disappear.They're in danger partly because the only people left speaking them are elderly adults,Harrison says.When those individuals die,their language will die with them.In addition,children may discard a native language and instead use more common global languages,such as Chinese,English or Spanish.
In the United States alone,134native American languages are endangered.Harrison says,"language hotspots"exist all over the world.These are places with endangered languages that haven't been recorded.They include the state of Oklahoma,pockets of central and eastern Siberia,parts of northern Australia and communities in South America.

32.The purpose of using the question"Taktak tabulaba?"is toB.

A.Learning their native language
B.Leaning their modern technology
C.Helping preserve their endangered tongue
D.Teaching the natives a new language
34.The underline word"discard"in Paragraph 5meansA.
A.get rid of                 B.pick up
C.hear of                   D.learn about
35.The last two paragraphs imply that endangered languages areC.

17.I was born and raised in England in a culture where privacy and"keeping yourself to yourself"were valued traditions.Speaking to strangers was not encouraged.People were most hospitable(好客的)and friendly.
However,I have been lucky enough to spend some time in both Italy and the US,where I found traditions of hospitality and politeness to be very different.
I experienced Italian hospitality first-hand on a crowded railway carriage travelling,one afternoon,from Genoa to Florence.Sinking gratefully into an empty seat,I was scolded in rapid Italian by a gentleman who was returning to this seat-it had not been"spare"after all.I apologized in English,and got up to allow him back into the seat.The gentleman obviously had no understanding of the English language,but he,too,realized my genuine(真誠的) mistake.He smiled and gestured for me to remain in the seat,and he himself remained standing in the corridor for the remainder of the journey.The other occupants of the carriage smiled and nodded at me and made me feel quite welcome amongst them.I feel that if this had been in England,a foreigner who made a mistake would not always be so kindly treated.
Transport also featured in the differences I noticed between English and American culture.I flew to New York on a plane with mainly English passengers.We sat together in near silence.Nobody spoke to me nor,as I expected,to anyone else they did not know.They felt it was not polite tointerrupt someone else's privacy.However,when I travelled across the United States,whether by plane or Greyhound bus,I was never short of conversation.Conversation was going on all around me and whoever sat next to me was happy to introduce themselves and ask me about myself.They obviously felt it would have been rude not to speak to another person,whether they were strangers or not.

25.What do we know about the occupants when the author was travelling in Italy?D
A.They were all on the side of the gentleman.
B.They all laughed at the author for his mistake.
C.They would not bear a mistake like the author's in public.
D.They all showed their understanding of the author's mistake.
26.How does the author finally believes the Italian people are?D
A.Cold              B.Rude      C.Helpful          D.Hospitable
27.Why did English passengers sit in near silence according to the last paragraph?C
A.They were too tired to speak to anyone.
B.They were all strangers to each other
C.Privacy was a valued tradition in England
D.Everybody was deeply lost in thought
28.What can be the best title for the text?A
A.Different Ways of Hospitality and Politeness

I want to register to attend a course about giving first-aid because it is important to learn some knowledge about first aid.If a person gets injured,he needs medical care before a docter can be found. At that time, even a second really counts. After graduation,I plan to devote myself to medical research.Hopefully, the course will help a lot to deal with some common injuries.
