【1】that 改為who.

【2】has held 間加been考查動(dòng)詞語(yǔ)態(tài)。 故has held 間加been

【3】to feel 改為feel,考查動(dòng)詞。

【6】have been happened 中的been 去掉,考查動(dòng)詞。

【7】because 后加of 考查連詞。 所以because 后加of。

【9】so 改為 such? 故so 改為 such。

【10】which 改為 that?疾殛P(guān)系詞。

Some hikers even lost their life. life是可數(shù)名詞,一些人甚至失去了他們的生命。

A discussion about hiking has held in our class. 故has held 間加been

They can also be relaxing walking in deep mountains.

They find themselves deep attracted by the beauty of nature.

比如第6句accidents have been happened now and then because poor knowledge of hiking. 所以because 后加of。

If you have a bad habit of losing things, a new device that can be connected to any item that you might lose may be the way to solve your problem. The Tile, a small square linked up to your iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth, lets you see how close you are to the missing item, within a 50-to 150-foot range . If the item goes out of your phone’s 150-foot range, it can still be detected (發(fā)現(xiàn)) on other smartphones with the same app.

When you log into the app on your phone, it shows you, with green bars that increase or decrease, how far away you are from the Tile. You can also program it to make a sound when you get close to the Tile. And you can link up your phone with up to ten Tiles. And if your lost item — a dog, for example, or a stolen bike — goes out of your own phone’s 150-foot Bluetooth range, you can set it as a “l(fā)ost item”. If any of the phones with the Tile app comes within the range of your lost item, a message will be sent to your own phone, reminding you of its position. The Tile app also has the function to remember where it last saw your Tile, so that you can easily find where you left it.

Since the Tiles use Bluetooth rather than GPS, they never run out of battery or need to be charged, and they last for one year before needing to be replaced. The app, which will come into the market this winter, works with iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPad Mini, iPad 3rd and 4th generation, and iPod 5th generation.

1The Tile app can help you .

A. find your missing items

B. use your phone more wisely

C. save your phone’s battery power

D. connect something to your phone

2Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?

A. The Tile needs to be charged after a year of use.

B. One smart phone can only be linked up to one Tile.

C. The Tile cannot work when linked up to a phone without Bluetooth.

D. A missing item can’t be found if it goes out of the needed range.

3What does the second paragraph mainly tell us?

A. What the Tile app is.

B. How the Tile app works.

C. The advantages of the Tile app.

D. Why the Tile app was invented.

4Where does this passage probably come from?

A. A science fiction novel. B. An advertisement.

C. A personal diary. D. A news report.

Three Critical Truths We Forget All Too Soon

So much happens in our lives every day that we often forget what we have learned. In effect, the only thing faster than the speed of our thoughts is the speed of our forgetfulness. 【1】

Small steps get you to big places.

The greatest of all mistakes is to do nothing simply because you can only do a little. In fact, it is far more productive to take many small steps in the right direction than to make a giant leap. 2 Figure out where you want to go, take a step, and keep on stepping. Diligence and persistence will get you there.

3

Two people can be affected by the same circumstance but respond in completely different ways. The reason is that it just depends on their attitudes. When you expect life to be unkind, it will always live up to your expectations. On the other hand, when you consider yourself to be in a fortunate situation, you will find yourself in many more. 4

You can only change yourself.

Don't wait for someone who hurt you to make it up to you; this kind of thinking only keeps your old wounds from healing. 5 You have no control over them, and they may never change. Inner peace is found by changing your thinking, not the people who hurt you. So forgive those who have hurt you in the past, and even more importantly, forgive yourself for allowing them to hurt you. Then smile like you've never cried re-open your heart and mind like you've never been hurt, and live the rest of your life like you're running out of time.

A. Fear always exists.

B. Attitude makes all the difference.

C. The path to every goal requires a hundred small steps-one after the other.

D. Here are some important reminders to jog your memory.

E. Waiting for them to change is not the answer.

F. In the end, we learn even more from our failures than we do from our successes.

G. It’s important to remember that there is value in every situation and circumstance.

How to be a good roommate

Roommate horror stories are pretty popular topics of conversation at school. Follow a few simple tips to ensure you’re not the awful roommate everyone’s talking about.

Respect each other

First and foremost, you need to respect your roommate.

【1】 If your roommate is sleeping, keep the noise and light levels down. If your roommate is studying, don’t have loud conversations in the same room. If in doubt, ask yourself whether you would be annoyed if your roommate didn’t do the above things for you.

●Keep it clean. 2 . Hair in the shower or bathrooms littered with magazines or dirty clothes. Respect means keeping your side of the room clean. And hopefully, if your roommate sees you keeping your side clean,he will keep his side clean.

●Keep your hands off their stuff. 3 . If you really need to borrow something of theirs, always ask before you do. If they say no, don’t get angry. Some people just don’t like other people using their stuff.

Set basic rules

You and your roommate should establish some basic rules. For instance, I really don’t like it while I am studying. 4 I’d rather be writing my paper than listening to you tell your best friend about your weekend. So discuss that with your roommate. Make a compromise(折中方案), but the tie should go to the person studying. Another example is to discuss cleaning duties. Dividing cleaning duties will make your room cleaner and it will help ease roommate tensions. 5

A. It is amazing how people don’t understand what it means to be considerate.

B. Taking out the trash and tidying the room are just a few things to consider.

C. I have heard many horror stories about dirty roommates.

D. I’m not good at doing several things at the same time.

E. Don’t use your roommate’s items (物品) without asking.

F. Talk on the phone.

G. Be considerate.

In modern society there is a great deal of argument about competition. Some value it highly, believing that it is responsible for social progress and prosperity(繁榮). Others say that competition is bad, that it sets one person against another and that it leads to unfriendly relationship between people.

I have taught many children who held the belief that their self-worth relied on how well they performed at tennis and other skills. For them, playing well and winning are often life-and-death affairs. In their single-minded pursuit(追求) of success, the development of many other human qualities is sadly forgotten.

However, while some seem to be lost in the desire to succeed, others take an opposite attitude. In a culture which only values the winner and pays no attention to the ordinary player, they strongly blame competition. Among the most vocal are youngsters who have suffered under competitive pressures from their parents or society. Teaching these young people, I often observe in them a desire to fail. They seem to seek failure by not trying to win or achieve success. By not trying, they always have an excuse: “ I may have lost, but it doesn’t matter because I really didn’t try.” What is not usually admitted by them is the belief that if they had really tried and lost, that would mean a lot.

Such a loss would be a measure of their worth. Clearly, this belief is the same as that of true competitors who try to prove themselves. Both are based on the mistaken belief that one’s self-respect relies on how well one performs in comparison with others. Both are afraid of not being valued.Only as this basic and often troublesome fear begins to disappear can we discover a new meaning in competition.

【1】Why do some people favor competition according to the passage?

A.It pushes society forward.

B.It builds up a sense of duty.

C.It improves personal abilities.

D.It encourages individual efforts.

2】The underlined phrase “ the most vocal” in Paragraph 3 means _____.

A.those who try their best to win

B.those who are against competition most strongly

C.those who value competition most highly

D.those who rely on others most for success

3】Which point of view may the author agree to?

A.Every effort should be paid back.

B.Competition should be encouraged.

C.Winning should be a life-and-death matter.

D.Fear of failure should be removed in competition.
