增加:在缺詞處加一個漏字符號(∧),并在其下面寫出該加的詞。

刪除:把多余的詞用斜線(\)劃掉。

修改:在錯的詞下劃一橫線,并在該詞下面寫出修改后的詞。

注意:1.每處錯誤及其修改均限一詞;

2.只允許修改10處,多者(從第11處起)不計分。

It is reported, some needy students receive financial support of some kind people but never express our thanks. Personally, I think they are wrong.

Though the helpers didn't expect any reward in return, but it’s necessary and good manner to say “thank you”. Besides, it is a basic social skill express ourselves in modern society. Maybe some of them do feel thankfully. It is only because they are afraid of being looked down upon which they remain silent. But I just want to say that being poor for a moment doesn't mean you will be poor forever.

【答案】1.將It改為As

2.of改為from

3.our改為their

4.didn’t改為don’t

5.but去掉

6.manner后加s

7.skill后加to

8.Thankfully去掉ly

9.which改為that

10.a改為the

【解析】第一處:考查固定搭配,as is reported,正如所報道的那樣,此處為固定短語,故將It改為As。

第二處:考查介詞的應(yīng)用,前文中有receive,而receive from為收到,此處不應(yīng)該使用of,故將of改為from。

第九處:考查強(qiáng)調(diào)句,這是個強(qiáng)調(diào)句,強(qiáng)調(diào)的是原因狀語only because they are afraid of looked down upon ,所以后面接that,故將which改為that。

第十處:考查冠詞的應(yīng)用,for the moment暫時,為固定短語,故將a改為the。

【題目】I remember my mother as a strong woman. She came to America when she was 12—old enough to remember her language, she achieved scores and grades high enough to be admitted to Duke University. With a degree in computer science, she finally became the manager of a company in New York. My mother could give fluent speeches, say “wolves” correctly.

It was my mother who always stressed the importance of language. From the time I was born, I was read to. I would fall asleep to the sounds of my parents’ voices, whether it was my dad’s softly accented, or my mother’s clear English. The flow of language was unbroken, and whether in Chinese or English, the stream of communication flowed through our house.

One October morning in sixth grade, after my mother had left to catch the train to the city, I left the house for the bus stop. I was surprised when I saw our car, the door hanging open. As I drew closer, I saw my mother lying on the ground.

In the hospital, it was hard to believe that the lady who lay before me was my mom. My mother could not remember my name. As the leaves changed colors, it became clear that the stroke had created a wall between my mothers mind and mouth: her mind was not any less dear, but the words she spoke were not what she meant.

The battle my mother faced taught me the importance of language. Without it, identity does not exist; relationships cannot be formed; stories cannot be told; directions cannot be given, and knowing anything about anyone is impossible. Without language, communication cannot take place. Without language, one cannot express the beauty of a sunset or the kindness of a stranger. The world would pass us by in silence.

1From where might the author’s mom come to America?

A. China B. England

C. Russia D. Canada

2According to the last two paragraphs, the author’s mom was unable to .

A. think clearly B. express herself well

C. speak D. open her mouth.

3The underlined word “stroke” in the 4th paragraph most probably refers to .

A. an accident B. a hit

C. an illness D. a robbery

4This passage is mainly about .

A. a strong mother B. the importance of language

C. a family disaster D. the significance of teaching language

It’s Nice to be Home

【1】 I have been fortunate enough to make trips to many countries. They were wonderful adventures filled with new sights and experiences. And my wife and I have another trip in the planning stages.

We're home now and have settled back into our daily routine of life.2 I find that when I am at home, particularly for a while when we have just returned from a trip,I feel very comfortable.Perhaps it is because everything around me is familiar and the daily routine is so much the same I can move through it almost without thinking.3Perhaps it is because we can have meals at home instead of always being in restaurants, although it's nice to let someone else do the cooking, and because I can sleep in my own bed. There are times I think it would be nice to simply stop travelling and stay home and I'm stile I would be very comfortable if that were to happen. 4

Yet I guess I am probably a restless soul because I know that after I have been home for a while I will start to think about other places we might go and other things we want to see.We will travel again and we feel fortunate to be able to do so.5 Still, one of the best things about travelling for me is coming home.I'm very comfortable here at home even if it is difficult to say exactly why.

A.I like to travel very much.

B.I enjoy local food while travelling.

C.I like being home, for whatever reason.

D.Perhaps it is because our friends are here.

E.And I enjoy my daily life at home so much.

F.We want to see as much of the world as we can.

G.Its lucky that my wife and I both love travelling.

Skin-to-skin Effort Aims to Cut Newborn Deaths

A social media campaign has been launched in China to cut down the number of newborns babies who die in the first 24 hours of life. The campaign, called First Embrace(擁抱),promotes skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby immediately after birth, a practice proven to keep the baby warm and help it to fight infections.

There are 16 million babies born in China each year, and approximately 150,000 of them die before they reach one month of age. 【1】 Zhang Shuyi, a researcher at the Capital Institute of Pediatrics in Beijing, said there was strong evidence for the First Embrace approach.

“When babies are cold, they are more likely to catch infections or have difficulty breathing,” she said,” 2 It provides direct protection against infection, promotes bonding between the parent and child and supports breast-feeding.” Health workers who shifted from the normal practice of separation to skin-to-skin contact have observed that babies are more pink, calm and comfortable.

The WHO has developed the First Embrace approach to help reduce newborn deaths across the Western Pacific region, including China. Bernhard Schwartlander , the WHO Representative in China, said, “As many as two-thirds of newborn deaths could be prevented using simple, low-cost methods, including the First Embrace.”

3 The WHO will be posting information about the campaign, and hosting online question-and-answer sessions with Chinese and international experts. The public can participate by following the WHO on Weibo and joining the conversation. Schwartlander said, “We are targeting new parents, pregnant women and couples thinking about having a baby. 4

Just last month, a new research shows that child and mother health outcomes in Shanghai are equal to those in the USA and Canada. 5 Hopefully, the messages conveyed by the new campaign could help to bridge that gap.

A. The campaign has now been launched via Weibo.

B. Of that number, half die in the first 24 hours of life.

C. Skin-to-skin contact keeps a baby warm by transferring heat.

D. Those parents who lost their newborn babies can get supports on the platform.

E. In other parts of China, however, the statistics are like those of poor countries.

F. It indicates that related methods for health care and birth quality should be improved.

G. We also aim to involve health professionals in the importance of early essential newborn care.
