My sister【3】(work) in People’s Hospital told me that a boy was【4】(terrible) burnt by boiling water and was dying. I hurried to the hospital and asked the people around【5】had happened. The boy’s neighbor told me that the boy had to live alone because both of his parents were working in another city and none of his【6】(relative) was willing to take care of him. Only on festivals would his parents【7】(return) home. In that case, the boy cooked by【8】(he) every day. I looked at the poor boy【9】skin was swollen, feeling very sad. His doctor told me that his nerves(神經(jīng))【10】(damage) and he was unconscious(昏迷的) now. I want to ask the boy’s parents, “If your son had died, what would you use your money for?”
【答案】
【1】an
【2】to leave
【3】working
【4】terribly
【5】what
【6】relatives
【7】return
【8】himself
【9】whose
【10】had been damaged/were damaged
be about to do sth.when…“正在做某事,這時候……”
故填what。
【6】考查名詞。句意:他的親戚沒有一個園藝照顧他。relative“親戚”是可數(shù)名詞,結(jié)合語境用復(fù)數(shù)。故填relatives。
【7】考查動詞。句意:只有在節(jié)日的時候,他的父母才回家。Only on festival置句首,主句用部分倒裝,助動詞would后接動詞原形,故填return。
【8】考查代詞。句意:在那種情況下,這個男孩每天自己做飯。by oneself“獨自地”是固定短語,主語the boy的反身代詞用himself。故填himself。
【9】考查定語從句。“___9___skin was swollen”是定語從句,現(xiàn)行詞是the poor boy,指人,從句中作定語用關(guān)系代詞whose。故填whose。
【10】考查動詞。句意:他的醫(yī)生告訴我他的神經(jīng)被損害,現(xiàn)在處于昏迷中。damage是謂語動詞,與主語his nerves是被動關(guān)系,用被動語態(tài);根據(jù)語境可知,此處表示過去發(fā)生事情用一般過去時,表示說話之前去發(fā)生的事情表示“過去的過去”,用過去完成時。故填were damaged/had been damaged。
【名師定睛】
不定冠詞a和an的用法:
a用在以元音因素開頭的詞匯前,表示“一”;an用在以輔音開頭的詞前,表示“一”。例如,university這個詞是以輔音因素開頭的單詞,所以前面加a,表示“一所大學(xué)”;an important meeting“一個重要的會議”,an honest boy“一個誠實的男孩”;an old man“一位老人”;an hour“一個小時”;an American lawyer“一個美國的律師”;a useful tool“一個有用的工具”;a European friend“一位歐洲的朋友”。如小題1,表示“一次難忘的經(jīng)歷”,unforgettable以元音開頭,表示泛指。故填an。

【題目】閱讀下列短文,從每題所給的四個選項中,選出最佳選項。
B
A new word duang is taking the Internet by storm in China - but no one knows quite what it means. The character “duang” is so new that it does not even exist in the Chinese dictionary. But it has already spread like wildfire online in China, appearing more than 8 million times on China's micro-blogging site Weibo, where it drew 312,000 discussions among 15,000 users. On China's biggest online search engine Baidu, it has been looked up almost 600,000 times. It's been noticed in the West too, with Foreign Policy seeing it as a “break the Internet” viral meme - like a certain Kim Kardashian image, or a certain multicoloured dress.
But what does it mean? “Everyone's duang-ing and I still don't know what it means! Looks like it's back to school for me,” said Weibo user Weileiweito. Another user asked: “Have you duanged today? My mind is full of duang duang duang.” “To duang or not to duang, that is the question,” wrote user BaiKut automan.
“Duang” seems to be an example of onomatopoeia, a word that phonetically imitates a sound. It all seems to have started with Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan, who in 2004 was featured in a shampoo advertisement where he said famously defended his smooth, black hair using the rhythmical-sounding “duang”. The word resurfaced again recently after Chan posted it on his Weibo page. Thousands of users then began to flood Chan's Weibo page with comments, making the word in reference to his infamous shampoo appearance.
The word appears to have many different meanings, and there's no perfect translation, but you could use it as an adjective to give emphasis to the word that follows it. A cat might be “duang cute”, for example. Or you might be “very duang confused” by this blog. For readers of Chinese characters, the Jackie Chan theme is also apparent from the strange way in which the word is written: a combination of Chan's names written in Chinese.
(1)What's the best title of the passage?
A.Millions share new Chinese character.
B.There are many great storms in China.
C.The Internet has made out new words.
D.Many try to find ways to stop wildfire.
(2)What is discussed in the second paragraph?
A.The doubt of the word.
B.The structure of the word.
C.The meaning of the word.
D.The root of the word.
(3)When Jackie Chan first said duang, he really wanted to _____.
A.create an important word
B.see his Weibo Page flooded
C.praise a kind of shampoo
D.play a Hong Kong action film
(4)When duang is used as an adjective, it can be used to _____.
A.emphasize the word after it
B.make other people confused
C.combine the users' names
D.open China's micro-blogging
