Retailers are exploring a new frontier in social commerce as they go beyond simply offering Facebook pages and Twitter profiles for their customers to follow.
Fueling this trend is web retailers’ quick adoption of social sign-on, which allows consumers to log in to their Facebook account instead of registering on an e-commerce site. Social sign-on gives retailers access to rich profile information for targeting customers.
"Bringing Facebook profile data into retail sites makes sense because it influences consumers," said Jeffrey Grau, e-marketer principal analyst and author of the new report "Social Commerce: Personalized and Collaborative(合作的) Shopping Experiences". "In contrast, many consumers on Facebook are mainly socializing with friends and further removed from making purchase decisions."
Over half of online retailers who responded to an August 2016 survey by Gigya, a provider of social sign-on applications, had either implemented the feature or planned to add it in the near future.
The Gigya study highlighted the benefits that online retailers and media-entertainment publishers get from offering social sign-on. At the top of the list were increased reservation (84%) and richer profile information for targeting product recommendations, emails, promotions and coupons(優(yōu)惠券)(80%).
"Social networks like Facebook are a center of information about people’s likes and interests,"said Grau."When consumers give a retailer permission to access their personal data on Facebook, the retailers see not only what those people have written in their profiles but also the content they have ‘liked’ on other sites."
A separate study outlined just some of the data available from various sites — not counting other information, like which products, news articles and content on third-party sites they link to in status updates.
Retailers must also be careful about delivering personalized recommendations and targeted ads. These could make consumers feel that their online privacy is being invaded and create a backlash, which is already a perennial(反復(fù)的) problem for social networks like Facebook.

Living among trees, plants and flowers can fill your life with beauty. And if you are a woman, it can also help you live longer. Researchers found that women who live in homes surrounded by plants appear to have lower death rates than women who live in areas with fewer plants.
Researchers at Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health reported the finding. They looked at the information from one of the largest and oldest investigations of the women’s health: the Nurse’s Health Study. It began 40 years ago. It now has information on nearly 200,000 women.
For the new study, the team looked at the death rates of more than 100,000 women between the years 2000 and 2008. Then the researchers compared the death rates of these women to the plants around their homes. The researchers also considered other things, such as the age of the women, money they earn and race. They also looked at whether or not the women smoked.
The study found that the death rate among women who lived in the greenest spaces was 12% lower than those from the least green areas. The researchers were surprised to find such a strong connection between high vegetation levels and low death rates.
The study suggested that living among trees, flowers and other plants lowered levels of depression. Researchers said women in greener areas spent more time with other people and exercised more. It is common knowledge that plants can help the environment in many ways. The new finding also suggested ways to the government and the city planners to grow even healthier living areas.
1.How did the researchers divide the women in the study?
A. By their money. B. By their different ages.
C. By their habit of smoking. D. By the number of plants around them.
2.It can be inferred from the last paragraph that ________.
A. more and more women will plant trees
B. it will be a must to build houses with trees around
C. the new finding may influence future living conditions
D. the government will take action to make women healthier
3.What is the best title of this passage?
A. Women should grow flowers at home
B. Plants may help women live longer
C. Women must exercise more to keep healthy
D. The bad environment causes high death rates

Guide for Teenagers
The teenage years can be tough, and it’s normal to feel sad every now and then. But if these feelings don’t go away or become so intense that you can’t handle them, you may be suffering from depression. 1.
Try not to isolate yourself.
When you’re depressed, you may not feel like seeing anybody or doing anything. Just getting out of bed in the morning can be difficult, but isolating yourself only makes depression worse. 2. Spend time with friends, especially those who are active.
Keep your body healthy.
Making healthy lifestyle choices can do wonders for your mood. Ever heard of a “runners high”? Physical activity can be as effective as medications for depression, so get involved in sports, ride your bike, or take a dance class. Any activity helps! 3. As for food, make sure you’re feeding your mind with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Avoid alcohol and drugs.
You maybe try drinking or use drugs in an effort to escape from your feelings and get a “mood boost,” even if just for a short time. However, substance use can not only make depression worse, but can cause you to become more depressed. 4. You will need special treatment for your substance problem.
5.
Stress and worry can lead to depression. Talk to a teacher if exams or classes seem overwhelming. In addition, if you have a health concern you feel you can’t talk to your parents about, see a doctor. A health professional can help you approach your parents and guide you toward appropriate treatment. If you’re dealing with relationship, friendship, or family problems, talk to an adult you trust.
A. Ask for help if you are stressed.
B. Even a short walk can be beneficial.
C. Turn to your parents for help.
D. As you get out into the world, you may find yourself feeling better.
E. In short, drinking and taking drugs will make you feel worse — not better — in the long run.
F. The more exercise you do, the healthier you will be.
G. Help is available and you have more power than you think.

Today, millions of people want to learn or improve their English. Is it good to study in Britain or in your own country?
The advantage of going to Britain seem obvious. You will listen to the language all the time, surround completely by the language wherever you go and don’t have to speak English if you are with the local people. In China, there is always possible to speak Chinese in class and the learn is slower.
On the one hand, there are also advantages of studying home. You don’t have to make big changes to your life. Besides, it’s much cheaper than going to Britain.
In my view, to most people with enough money, being at home is their only option. The most important thing to do in this situation is to maximize our opportunities: speaking only English in class and using English whenever possible outside the class.
