TransNatura International Nature Photo Competition
The application is open, and all photographers are invited from all over the world, except the jury (評(píng)委會(huì)) and the organizers. The basic requirement is that the recordings have to be made of natural habitats without disturbing the wildlife. On the photos only wild animals can be included.
Two categories:
A Category: Open—any type of nature photography, representing animals, plants, landscape, and so on
B Category: The art of flying—nature pictures that represent the movement of flying animals and the beauty of flying
The assessment by the jury: 16th September10th October
Announcement of results: 30th of October
Exhibition Opening: 23th of November
The works received will be evaluated and decided upon by an international jury made up of the five persons from Hungary and Romania.
A total number of competition prizes will be awarded:
Grand Prize—1,000 Euro;
1st Prize—600 Euro;
2nd Prize—400 Euro;
3rd Prize—200 Euro.
Entry requirements:
A participant may enter the competition with at most four pictures per category.
The pictures for the competition have to be submitted before 15th of September in the form of digital images, in jpg format.
The participant must have full copyright over the submitted photos.
The entry fee is 10 Euro for a category, 15 Euro for two categories.

On November 12, 2017, the student in our class paid visit to China Science and Technology Museum.
At 8:00, we left to China Science and Technology Museum by bus. At 8:30, a guide introduced it to us briefly and told us that what we should pay attention to during we visit. Ten minutes late, we began our visit. Some students took notes carefully as they visited. All the students were amazing at the rapidly achievements in science and technology. Three hours has gone by before we knew it. At 11:30, we returned to our school.
This visit no only broadened my outlook but also aroused my interest in science and technology.

Both men and women are living longer these days in industrialized countries. In general, they can expect to live six or seven years more than men. One reason for this is biological.

Are you concerned about the effect of the haze(霧霾) in Singapore on the health of your children? Then you should read the following passage.

＂Young children, especially those with lung or heart illness, should avoid outdoor activity at PSI(Pollution Standards Index — used in Singapore) levels above 100,＂ says Dr Biju Thomas.

The immune system(免疫系統(tǒng)) of children is not mature. 1 Exposure to the haze can result in symptoms such as a blocked nose, dry throat, breathing difficulty, and so on.

Children who are exposed to the haze and experience any of these symptoms which are not serious should recover on their own in time if they limit their exposure to the haze. 2

To keep children safe during the haze in Singapore, parents should keep doors and windows closed at home. Ensure children drink plenty of pure water every day.

3 The answer is that there aren’t any N95 masks designed for use by children. That’s because these masks are made to create a seal(密封) around the mouth and nose of the adult user so particles(顆粒) can not get in. 4 Surgical masks may not offer enough protection from the harmful particles in the haze, which is very small (2.5 microns or less). There is usually some gap between the surgical mask and the face, through which the haze particles may easily get in. 5 However, if it is necessary to take children outdoors during a haze, parents may wish to offer children’s surgical mask to their children, if it brings them comfort, such as filtering out the smell from the haze.

Taxis on a rainy New York night are rarer than sunshine. By the time the group got up to leave, it was pouring outside. Welty’s new friends immediately sent a waiter to find a cab. Tu Youyou, the first Chinese Nobel Prize winner in medicine, who was born in 1930 in Zhejiang Province. She won the prize for his amazing contribution to the development of artemisinin (青蒿素), a highly effective treatment for malaria.（瘧疾）Her story is considered an inspired one.
In the last century, many people suffered from malaria, a dead disease which took away many lives every year. So Tu was determined to find a cure with it. She worked as hard as she could, asked for neither fame or fortune. Eventually, her efforts paid off. Tu and her team discovered artemisinin in 1971, that proved an effective medicine for treating malaria. Since then millions of lives had been saved across the globe. Tu's successful story tells us that only if we are determined we go on the road to success.
