Last week our school hold a sports meeting. Realize it was our last school sports meeting, we decided to make it a unforgettable experience. We first attended the opening ceremony, for whom our class had made a lot of preparations. Much to our excitements, our performance was a success. My classmates participated various events such as running, the high jump and the long jump. Due to the hard training the athletes had done before, and their performance was very impressive. Finally the result came which our class won the second place! Cup in hand, we took a picture together proud. This sports meeting will be a precious memory for all of them as time goes by.

I don’t remember exact how old I was when I began to ride a bike. I only remembered how I practiced riding a bike in early years. When I first successfully rode a bike, that remains a vivid memory, my brother helped me with holding the back seat of the bike while I was riding. “Wow, I did it!”, cried I, as soon as he noticed I was riding without his hands hold it! I learnt quickly, and soon, even though my feet were not touching the ground, but I was able to cycle around six kilometer a day to school! It’s so lovely to remember which happened at that time.

Charles Dickens (1812—1870), the great nineteenth century English novelist, was born near Portsmouth. His father ran heavily into debt (債) and when he was twelve, he had to go and work in a factory. Measuring at 8.0Ms, a terrible earthquake strikes Wenchuan on May 12, 2008. A great number of houses and buildings was destroyed, left as many as 10,000,000 people homeless. That shocked us was that almost everything was in ruins. Fortunate, the government took steps immediately. Now after a decade, with people who come from all fields giving a helpful hand, a new city appears in the front of us but it looks like a beautiful garden. In my opinion, without the support of our motherland, the survivor could not lead such a comfort life as it is now. I am proud that I live so great a country.
