Did you know? Julie Taymor, the shows director, created a number of puppets and masks for the show. She used many different styles, but had one rule: the performer should never be hidden by the device so the audience could see the humanity of the characters as well as what each performer was technically capable of.

78% of the people consider lucky money one of the most important traditional custom, representing good wishes from the elderly to the new generation. Besides, lucky money is the more attractive part for kids, who forms the good memory of the childhood.

The rest, however, think bad of it. For one thing, the amount is growing bigger and bigger, make it a heavy load. For other, it has been an excuse to bribe (賄賂)people in the power.

Forgiveness is necessary because it releases you from the burden of bitterness and hate. It takes a lot of energy to hate and to keep that hate in place. Hate puts unnecessary stress on your body. It is a well-known fact, proven by numerous studies, that bitterness and hate can actually make you sick. The moment that affected people forgive and let go of their hate, they will start to get well. Forgiveness brings freedom, whereas revenge (報(bào)復(fù)) is neither sweet nor satisfying.

I have personal experience of this. I used to be very cynical about life and didn’t forgive easily. At the time, I also struggled in every area of my life. Things just didn’t seem to work out for me. It is as if everything that could go wrong, always went wrong. That was until somebody told me to take a look at my attitude. And when I forgave those who wronged me and changed my attitude, everything else changed. It didn’t happen overnight. It took a while, but I could see and feel the difference.

I have two foreign friend, Kari and Vance, who come from the USA. Now they are teaching English in same university in Shijiazhuang. Last year they paid a visit to our school. I have never met foreigners ago and wanted very much to know what I was getting along with my spoken English. So I went over to talk with him. Both of them were surprising that a school student could speak English so good. They advised to taking a photo together.
