In the cartoon the father educates their child with a ruler while the mother with a bar of chocolate, which makes their child confused. The picture reflects that the father is too strict with the child and the mother spoils him.

I think neither of their education methods is right. If we always punish children severely when they make mistakes, they will become nervous and lack self-confidence or they will become violent and aggressive, following in their fathers’ footsteps. If we always spoil children, they will turn out to be selfish/self-centered and dependent.

As far as I am concerned, parents should use appropriate methods to educate their children. Since punishment and love both play important roles in children’s education, parents should try to keep a balance between them. Besides they should often communicate with their children to learn what they are thinking of. Also, they are expected to set a good example to children and guide their children properly when necessary. Only by doing so can children benefit from proper family education and achieve all-round development.
