As the November cold begins to take control

in the UK, Bonfire Night (or Guy Fawkes Night) is a chance to wrap up in winter clothes and warm up by the fire.

Celebrated on November 5, Guy Fawkes Night has been part of British history since 1605, when Fawkes was found trying to blow up parliament (議會) with barrels of gunpowder. Now, it is traditional for Britons to make a fake (假的) “Guy” every year from old clothes and burn it on the fire.

Bonfire Night is also a time for “chili con carne”， a dish made from slowcooked beef mince, tomatoes, kidney beans, onions, and spices. It is often served on top of a hot jacket potato with butter and cheese. It's not the most elegant dish in the world but it's sure to warm people up while they brave the cold for the festivities.

But for many Britons, the night is not complete without “bonfire treacle toffee (太妃糖)”， which is also known as “plot toffee”， named after Guy Fawkes' plot to blow up parliament. The toffee is rock hard and is often broken with a hammer and handed out to guests.

Whether it's the sound of fireworks making Britain sound like a war zone, the hearty winter food, or the excuse to light a huge fire, Bonfire Night has something for everyone. Just watch out for those rockets!

The spaceship, with no man inside, will fly within 4 million miles of the sun’s surface - right into the solar atmosphere, where the temperature is over 4,500°C. To protect the spaceship, it is covered with a 12cm-thick coating.

The spaceship is called Parker Solar Probe and it is named after Eugene Parker, a professor from the University of Chicago. It’s the first NASA spaceship to be named after a researcher who is still alive. In 1958, Eugene Parker first created the term “solar wind”-the sun sending out a flow of particles (顆粒) and energy.

“The spaceship is going where it has never been before. It’s very exciting that we’ll finally get to know more about the solar wind. I’m sure there will be some surprises. There always are,” said Professor Parker.

There is a very instructive incident involving the life of Alexander the Great, King of Greek. Alexander, after conquering many kingdoms, was returning home.

Pilates, yoga and the running machine get all the attention when it comes to popular ways to stay healthy.

There is, however, a more humble exercise that might not be so attractive, but has all the benefits — walking.

Certified fitness professional Jolynn Jaekel explains, “What I love about walking is that anyone can do it at any age and any fitness level. Plus, it is good for your heart, your head and your wallet.”

They observed participants aged between 18 and 80 over a sixyear period and found that walking reduced the risk of heart disease by 9.3%, while running reduced it by 4.5%. And there is even more good news: 30 minutes of quick walking over five days could help you sleep easily, according to research by Oregon State University. The study by the university showed that walking helped participants sleep better and feel more alert during the day.

I often quarrel with my mother over if I can watch TV after school. She holds the view that high school students has to make full use of every minute to work hard at their lesson.
