If you study abroad, it’s necessary to mix with the locals. This allows you
【1】(test) your language skills and find out more about the local culture. Having lived abroad for three years, I’m able to put forward a list of tips to help you make friends in a foreign country.
Firstly, say yes to everything within reason. Obviously, if you don’t feel 【2】 ease, you can choose not to do anything. However, don’t put off trying something new. The group of students from your class who invite you out for a coffee might end up 【3】(be) your friends for life!
Secondly, develop a 【4】 (entire) new hobby. Join a dance class, a walking club or learn to cook the local food—the 【5】(possibility) are endless!
Thirdly, get out of the house! Hours 【6】(spend) on the computer chatting with your family back at home surely make you even homesick. Just get out and explore the exciting place you live in.
Lastly, be 【7】(confidence) when you are surrounded by people speaking 【8】 unfamiliar language. Even if you may find 【9】 difficult to involve yourself in conversations, you should try to make your voice heard. Once you open your mouth and begin to speak, it’s likely 【10】 you will find everyone wants to know more about you.
【1】to test
【2】at
【3】being
【4】entirely
【5】possibilities
【6】spent
【7】confident
【8】an
【9】it
【10】that
句意:這允許你測試自己的語言技能,并且發(fā)現(xiàn)更多的當(dāng)?shù)匚幕?/span>allow sb. to do sth.
end up結(jié)束,該短語是一個固定短語,up是一個介詞,介詞后接v+ing形式,所以填being。
這個句子中to involve yourself in conversations是句子真正的賓語,該空需要填一個形式賓語,所以填it。
【10】這里it是形式主語,___10___ you will find everyone wants to know more about you.是真正的主語,所以___10___ you will find everyone wants to know more about you.

Before a child starts school, his or her main role models are his or her parent or caregiver. Parents or caregivers with high self-esteem( 自尊) typically model this to the children, who will gradually pick up these ideas. Those who are influenced by negativity(否定性,消極態(tài)度), even if the negativity is not towards them, will often take the same way of thinking, leading to low self-esteem in childhood.
Continual praise for a child’s achievements plays a large part in a child’s view of himself or herself. Praising a child for acting as expected or something good often encourages him or her to repeat the same action and forms a sense of self-worth. Empty praise, however, can have the opposite(相反的)effect. A child who is praised for anything will stop believing the words, and the empty praise will have little effect on self-esteem in childhood or possibly a negative effect.
Providing a child with responsibilities based on his or her abilities is also important in the development of self-esteem in childhood. Making a child feel like a helpful member of a family or group, whether at home or school, helps to form a higher sense of confidence in his or her abilities. However, giving a child unfit responsibilities or tasks can do no good to the development of high self-esteem in childhood.
Each person has strengths and weaknesses. A child can build up his or her confidence level when he/she is encouraged to take part in activities ,which can provide him or her with chances to work on weaknesses(缺點(diǎn)) in a helpful environment . Children who are given the opportunities to use their unique skills to help others or improve themselves have higher self-esteem than those who are not given the same chances or who are pushed into activities that they do not enjoy or do not have an ability to do.
